Internet for Dummies, Wednesday 10/11, 3rd Period

Abby greeted the class with a flash from the digital camera she held. "I hope everyone got the handwavy email I sent asking you to bring an item to sell. If not, you've got to pick something that you have on you."

Abby directed each of the students over to a section of the lab that she set up for taking pictures. "Once we've got your pictures uploaded you've got to come up with a good description for your item. You have to balance powerful 'selling words' with not totally lying. It should be fun."

"After you've done that, feel free to shop as you watch the bids roll in."

"I don't really own much of anything," Door says a bit apologetically. "Except the books and clothes and such that I bought when I got here, and I need those." She holds up a stack of CDs about as high as her head. "I do have these, though? They came in the post."

It's about 50,000 free hours of AOL.

Abby laughed and nodded. "This is perfect." She took several pictures of the stack and then handed them back to Door.

"Now you need to figure out how to list these so people want to buy them. You'll need to be pretty creative."
