"Good afternoon, everybody," Peter said with a grin as the group assembled. "Hopefully everyone's recovered from the colourless weekend and no one else has turned into a puppet man?" He may have looked far too amused at the last.

"Today I thought we could start having those of us who have studied for a while demonstrate their particular style of swordwork for everyone else. Then we all have a bit of familiarity with each other's forms and perhaps see how they'd mesh. Perhaps one demonstration a week for a while until we either run out of volunteers or there's something else that catches everyone's interest. For today, Sakuazaki," he bowed to her, "has agreed to demonstrate her bladework for us."

"After that, we can pair up and work out or spar as the mood takes us. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, let me or Hamlet know. If you'd like to volunteer to demonstrate your style, let me know as well."

[OOC: If your character would prefer to be asked to demonstrate, ping me in the OOC thread, and Peter will be happy to solicit their help. After the demonstration, pair off as you like and chatter or spar as you wish. ~~Wait for the~~ OCD, ~~please~~. is up!]

Joxer took her hand and got back to his feet. "That's a special tactic of mine," he said. "Throws the enemy off balance."

"That it does," Parker said agreeably, taking a step backward. "I know I'm more wary now. Your move!"

"Yeah, it is," Joxer said. He went for a trick Jett always pulled on him. He swung the sword while trying to kick with his opposite leg.

It'd be real easy to topple him over, again.

Almost too easy, really. Unless you're Parker, and in an evil mood.

She blocked the sword blow, then leaned forward to push at his breastplate with one finger. "Oops."

Joxer fell over backwards with another clang of metal.

"Owwww."

Parker sighed, and facepalmed, finally a little calmer. "You okay?"

"I'm fine," Joxer said. "You're really good. How long have you been swordfighting?"

"A while," Parker says, unwilling to humiliate him any more by saying 'three months.' "And thanks. You've definitely got some-- moves." She paused. "Although I think Setsuna's got some new stuff you should consider. Just for variety."

"I'll think about it," Joxer said. "I've always been thinking of diversifying a bit."

Yep. He was still on his back, on the ground. Trying to pretend this was totally normal.

Parker studied him, bemused. "I'll just leave you to that, then? I've got some more warming up to do." She paused, cocked an eyebrow. "Thanks for the spar."

"Any time," Joxer said. He even waved, and wondered if the floor would obligingly swallow him whole right now.
