"Hey, I've always called Alec on his crap," Dean told him. "Especially when it comes to you." He sighed. "Gotta admit, he's not really proving to be a fast learner here."
Sam frowned deeply. "I didn't say that. I just meant that the situation between you and Alec has changed, so I've been expecting the way you deal with him and me to change too."
Dean shook his head. "Not particularly. I mean it makes me want even more for the two of you to stop picking at each other, but I'm still going to call the low blows when I see them."
"I can't stop picking at him while he's doing things like this," Sam argued, knowing full well how childish it made him sound, but he didn't care much at that point.
"I know," Dean said. "And I know you've been making an effort since I told you about Alec and me. Don't think I haven't noticed or that I don't appreciate it."
"I've come to terms with the fact that you have no taste in guys," Sam said, his mouth quirking up into a light smile. "I also know that there's got to be something about Alec that makes him worth the effort, and that that's probably something I'll never see."
