After watching the crowd gather and encouraging them to settle down long enough to listen to people talk, The Tick began to speak.

"Welcome, students and faculty, to our first assembly of the year! We'll be doing these to help impart something to our students. Give them advice, entertainment, and something worthwhile to do on a Friday afternoon!"

"Today you'll be getting advice from several speakers. They are motivational speakers, people who speak and give advice to help you better yourself! They are the tops in their individual fields, respective Everests, and this assemply is your sherpa, helping you scale that mountain to a better you!"

"Some of today's speakers are professional motivational speakers! Some are fellow students with some special advice! And one is a local business owner just looking to help out!"

"I think it's about time to let them do their jobs now. Please give the speakers your undivided attention and have some fun!"

"I've never seen so many Fandom students in one place. I rather miss the Great Hall."

"We don't really have anything like that normally," Hermione says, a little sadly because she misses it, too. "There were events over the summer, though, where everyone would get together. It wasn't the same."

"I rather wish I could visit home for Halloween." Lavender sighed. "Though I do love it here."

"So do I," she says. "It doesn't help that it's about November in my reality now, so I've missed Halloween. I'm not sure what to do about their Christmas yet."

"Oh that's weird!" Lavender observed. "If it's not September ther no one's told me."

"I'm not sure how it happened. I was expecting to start school in the fall and got an extra summer instead," she shrugs. "I'm trying to figure out how to guage how fast their time is going in order to make visits and keep track of what's happening."

"Two summers sounds good to me. I don't get many letters but I assume some one would have mentioned the holidays if they'd happened." Lavender furrowed her brow.

"I don't think Cedric has to deal with this sort of thing, either," Hermione sighs. "It's Fandom, though. I've come to learn to expect this."

"Everytime I think nothing can surprise me something does." Lavender shrugged. "Do you know what the assembly is about?"

"Haven't heard anything," she answers. "I just hope it's quick. Or at least, very interesting."

"Hee good luck with that. I think this might be long and boring." Lavender grinned.

"I hope not too long, I have work I could be doing," Hermione sighs. "Though I'm sure at least it's important and we should know it."

"It's hard to keep up here. How're your classes? Challenging you?"

"For the most part," she says. "We had to put a ghost to rest in Hunting the other day. Philosophy is a lot of work, but it's very interesting. And Literature had me talking to a vrey confusing cat. How are yours?"

"They're good. My Cross-Species class is really interesting. Hey... ummmm. You said you were still gonna try to take you OWLs?"

"With all the work I've already done in Arithmancy and Potions on my own free time, they'd better let me," says Hermione, who might be a little determined.
