After watching the crowd gather and encouraging them to settle down long enough to listen to people talk, The Tick began to speak.

"Welcome, students and faculty, to our first assembly of the year! We'll be doing these to help impart something to our students. Give them advice, entertainment, and something worthwhile to do on a Friday afternoon!"

"Today you'll be getting advice from several speakers. They are motivational speakers, people who speak and give advice to help you better yourself! They are the tops in their individual fields, respective Everests, and this assemply is your sherpa, helping you scale that mountain to a better you!"

"Some of today's speakers are professional motivational speakers! Some are fellow students with some special advice! And one is a local business owner just looking to help out!"

"I think it's about time to let them do their jobs now. Please give the speakers your undivided attention and have some fun!"

"Diagonally is just fine!" Stuart said. "Whatever makes you unique. What's your name?"

"Um, I'm Luke," Luke said.

"Hello, Luke," Stuart said brightly. "Now, Luke, I know there must be a lot of pressure for you to express yourself well, and I can imagine that you must lie awake thinking, 'I'm not good enough...everybody's better than me...I have no business even existing due to being so hopeless and ignored by everyone. Right?"

"Not really," Luke said, looking even more confused.

"Luke, denial ain't just a river in Egypt."

"I have no idea what that means."

"And so you prove my point," Stuart sighed. "I thought so. And that's okay. You're not alone. Believe me, I know what it's like - laying there alone...all those tapes rolling: 'I'm a fraud...tomorrow, I'm going to be exposed for what I am, a big imposter...I just want to curl up and lay in bed all day and eat Fig Newtons.'"

Luke had never really thought of his life that way at all. "What's a Fig Newton?"

Maybe it would help to explain what the hell this guy was talking about.

"A type of delicious cookie," Stuart said, going glassy-eyed.

Well that was no help at all.

Luke gave the speaker a vague sort of smile. "Thanks."
