School Assembly, Friday Afternoon, The Auditorium

After watching the crowd gather and encouraging them to settle down long enough to listen to people talk, The Tick began to speak.

"Welcome, students and faculty, to our first assembly of the year! We'll be doing these to help impart something to our students. Give them advice, entertainment, and something worthwhile to do on a Friday afternoon!"

"Today you'll be getting advice from several speakers. They are motivational speakers, people who speak and give advice to help you better yourself! They are the tops in their individual fields, respective Everests, and this assemply is your sherpa, helping you scale that mountain to a better you!"

"Some of today's speakers are professional motivational speakers! Some are fellow students with some special advice! And one is a local business owner just looking to help out!"

"I think it's about time to let them do their jobs now. Please give the speakers your undivided attention and have some fun!"

[OOC: Each speaker will have their own thread, plus there will be a Q&A thread at the end of the post for them to ping into. Please wait to ask the speakers questions until the speakers have pinged in.

There are also a couple of general conversation threads for people who don't want to give their undivided attention. :)

Big thanks to all of the speakers!]

Parker grinned. "I'm making up the Agonized part. Mostly. But you know what I'm talking about. Nuns are always scarier." She frowned. "Unless you're Angel, and then it just gets disturbing."

Elizabeth closed her eyes. "Yes, let's not go there," she said. "But I do know what you're talking about."

"He's supposed to be coming to Homecoming next week. We can always tell him he missed nuns," Parker said mischeviously. "Although I am wondering if that'll convince him to stay. He's gotten pretty attached to Los Angeles."

"I think that's a good thing though," said Elizabeth. "Even if it does mean that he's on the other side of the country."

"And in another dimension." Parker pouted a moment, then looked resigned. "Well. It's better than if he was hating his life, I guess. Although I still don't think giving Callisto a job was the Best Idea Ever." She shrugged. "So what's been up with you, lately?"

[and I run off, back in an hour!]

Elizabeth snickered. "But when has Angel been famed for his Best Ideas Ever?" she asked. She shrugged. "Not so much. College admission essays are driving me insane, first StuCo meeting was earlier and I'm making plans to kidnap Janet and take her dress shopping ready for Homecoming. How about you

[[*waves* See you later!]]

"I'm not sure if I'm going yet. I have to check if they're letting townies in this year." And if Jarod would want to go. "I got my essays done early, but I want to hear back already! February is a long way off. How was the first StuCo meeting?" Parker looked wistful. "I'm surprised I still miss it, a little."

"Well. I've not actually asked Janet yet," said Elizabeth, grinning. "I should probably do that. It was good. I'm glad to be back, and I can see why you would. You like to be in control and StuCo are the students in charge of these things."

[[Ended up going out for dinner -- back now. Um, obviously!]]

"Which is great but very bad for me, so, yeah. Still glad I quit." She grinned. "I've been making T-shirts and posters for Zero's band the last couple days. And you need to ask Janet, even if it's a sure thing! Or she needs to ask you. Whichever."

[no problema!]

"I missed you there," said Elizabeth, smiling. "Oh, yes, it's their debut tomorrow night. I'm really looking forward to it. And I will ask her. Or she'll ask me. And before the night of the dance too!"

Parker snickered. "And is there going to be any dunking of archaeologists, this time out?"

Elizabeth grinned, slightly wickedly. "He deserves it if there is," she declared.

"Just remember to give me a high sign, so I can be there with a camera, or to help." Parker shook her head. "*I* don't have any classes with him."

Re: Before the Assembly

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-09-30 01:31 am (UTC)(link)
"Absolutely," said Elizabeth firmly. "Me neither. Although I did consider it just to torture him."

Re: Before the Assembly

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-09-30 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Parker gave her a curious look. "You're okay though, right? Things are still good?"

Re: Before the Assembly

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-09-30 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth sighed slightly, but nodded slowly. "We're still good," she said. "A slight arguement the other week after he came back from Egypt, but we patched it up okay."

Re: Before the Assembly

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-09-30 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm glad. You guys seem happy, mostly." Parker looked away. "That's important. Anyway. Any chance of Murray showing up for Paretns' Weekend?"

Re: Before the Assembly

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-09-30 01:38 am (UTC)(link)
"We are. Mostly," said Elizabeth, smiling. She laughed. "I have absolutely no idea, I'm afraid. I haven't heard anything from Colorado recently, so you'd probably be better off asking Janet about it."

Re: Before the Assembly

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-09-30 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
Parker grinned. "Don't think I won't. Her 'Uncle George' is nice, but he doesn't really compare to the big guy, you know?" She made a face. "I'm just hoping I can convince my father to leave the bodyguard at home this time."

Re: Before the Assembly

[identity profile] notcalledlizzie.livejournal.com 2006-09-30 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Elizabeth grinned. "I definitely understand where you're coming from," she said. "To be honest, I'm hoping that no one's coming for me!"
