After watching the crowd gather and encouraging them to settle down long enough to listen to people talk, The Tick began to speak.

"Welcome, students and faculty, to our first assembly of the year! We'll be doing these to help impart something to our students. Give them advice, entertainment, and something worthwhile to do on a Friday afternoon!"

"Today you'll be getting advice from several speakers. They are motivational speakers, people who speak and give advice to help you better yourself! They are the tops in their individual fields, respective Everests, and this assemply is your sherpa, helping you scale that mountain to a better you!"

"Some of today's speakers are professional motivational speakers! Some are fellow students with some special advice! And one is a local business owner just looking to help out!"

"I think it's about time to let them do their jobs now. Please give the speakers your undivided attention and have some fun!"

[OOC: Each speaker will have their own thread, plus there will be a Q&A thread at the end of the post for them to ping into. Please wait to ask the speakers questions until the speakers have pinged in.

Luke nodded. "I have a date for the dance and everything."

"A date?" A dance? Ray must've missed that whole thing. "Lemme guess...you're taking the X-Wing."

Luke laughed. "No, an actual girl. Hard to imagine, huh? There's something called homecoming next week."

"I didn't even notice." Damn, this week had been a complete bust. "Who're you takin'?"

"Her name's Will," Luke said, bouncing a little. "She's really great." He smiled over at Ray. "How's your week been?"

"I don't really know," Ray replied. "It kinda went by quickly. I think I slept through most of it."

"I did some of that, too," Luke said. "Mostly in Astronomy class."

"Sleeping in class is very bad." Ray almost managed to say that without laughing. Almost.

Luke snickered. "Then they should be more interesting." He slid a little lower in his chair. "You think this'll turn into a prime napping opportunity, too?"

"Why're you so tired there, Luke?"

"I'm not tired," Luke said, "but an assembly on motivational speakers doesn't exactly sound action packed."

"Good point." Ray thought about it for a moment. "I dare you to ask the speakers some really weird questions."

Luke laughed. "Only if you do it, too."

Ray shrugged. "Deal. My choice of speaker to ask my question to. Your choice for yours."

"Deal," Luke said, shifting in his seat. "Looks like we're about to start."

"This should be good," Ray muttered and turned his attention towards the stage.
