After watching the crowd gather and encouraging them to settle down long enough to listen to people talk, The Tick began to speak.

"Welcome, students and faculty, to our first assembly of the year! We'll be doing these to help impart something to our students. Give them advice, entertainment, and something worthwhile to do on a Friday afternoon!"

"Today you'll be getting advice from several speakers. They are motivational speakers, people who speak and give advice to help you better yourself! They are the tops in their individual fields, respective Everests, and this assemply is your sherpa, helping you scale that mountain to a better you!"

"Some of today's speakers are professional motivational speakers! Some are fellow students with some special advice! And one is a local business owner just looking to help out!"

"I think it's about time to let them do their jobs now. Please give the speakers your undivided attention and have some fun!"

[OOC: Each speaker will have their own thread, plus there will be a Q&A thread at the end of the post for them to ping into. Please wait to ask the speakers questions until the speakers have pinged in.

Blair bounced excitedly while he waited for questions.

Nadia stood up. "Blair. What action do you recommend should the protest not work?"

"Another form of protest." Blair said. "You shouldn't give up."

"I'm not saying you should. But what if all the forms of protest fail? What if the person you're against just refuses to listen?"

"If you've gone through all possible forms of protest and aren't seeing a change then you might think about other ways to change things." Blair nodded. "Sometimes when you can't make people change, you have to change things for them."

"But how? And won't the people resent you for changing things when they didn't want them changed?"

"There are ways to stop production, or halt goods getting from one place to another." Blair shrugged. "It's possible that they will. But since when do we care what The Man thinks?"

"But all of the protest methods require numbers. People to back up your opinion, like other 'little people' being oppressed by 'the Man'. And if they aren't supporting your cause, then the lack of production could cost them their jobs. And that might hurt their families."

"Most times there are lots of people to back up an opinion and fight The Man. Sometimes there are sacrifices that have to be made, but I would think about that before I tried to shut things down and work on a program to provide assistance. Maybe a commune."

Nadia shook her head. "But what if there aren't? What if no one signs your petition or no one joins your picket line? Sabotage is a form of violence."

"Just because no one joins doesn't mean that other people don't feel the same way. Maybe some people are just too afraid of The Man to stand up right away." Blair nodded. "Sabotage against inantimate objects is okay."

"But inanimate objects can affect everything around them. How do you know that sabotaging a machine at the evil corporation won't result in an injury of a worker or a repairman?"

"I'll read the manual beforehand."

"Manuals aren't always right. Every machine is a little bit different from the others."

Blair looked over to see if anyone else had a question. "Okay, I'll hire a handyman for all my sabotaging needs?"

"I just think these are things you need to think about."

"I appreciate you bringing them to my attention." Blair smiled. "I haven't ever been in charge of a protest when sabotage has been necessary, but I should be thinking about it and what my stand is."

Jack jumped to his feet when Nadia was done. "Blair, are there any naked protests planned for the near future? And can I offer my services if there are?"

Blair laughed and shook his head. "I don't have any on the books, Jack. But if one comes up, you'll be the first person I call."

Jack grinned and bounced in place. "Okay. Because I'm a real asset to anything that involves being naked."

"I'm sure we'd all benefit from your naked assets." Blair blinked at that sentence and blushed. "Or something that sounds a bit less dirty."

"My naked asset is a sight to behold," Jack laughed and glanced around the assembly. "I'd be happy to show everyone if you want?"

"Maybe not right now." Blair grinned. "If your assets are as good as you say they are we should save them for when we really need them."

"Okay," he said happily. "Anytime you need me, just let me know." He sat back down, still grinning.

Blair nodded at Jack and grinned.
