Fencing Club, 5pm, Salle

Peter arrived at the salle probably quite a bit earlier than he needed to, but he wanted to make sure everything was set up.  Even if everything wasn't all that much.

Once people arrived, he nodded and started introductions.  "I think I know most of you, but I'm Peter Pevensie.  I'm a knight of my country, and I fight with a longsword and with a shield.  I know some of you have been training for years and some have never picked up a blade before, so shall we go around, do introductions to get to know each other and start planning for what people want to do for the rest of the semester?"

"Would you tell your name, what type of swordwork  - if any - you've studied in the past, and what you are hoping to learn?"

After introductions, he smiled again.  "Quickly, some rules we've developed in the salle.  The salle is for training purposes only.  Working with another student or working your own forms or moves.  Any sparring ought to be done up in the gym where there's more space and more people around.  This is partially because unless there are very special circumstances, all sparring should be done with practice blades.  No one needs to be seriously injured as a result of training.  You've probably noticed that we share space somewhat with the gun range.  They do get loud so if anyone has more ideas to dull the noise other than the makeshift barrier and fabrics we've put on the walls, please make the suggestion.  And finally, the salle isn't open all hours like the gym.  It's open 10am - 6pm on the weekdays and 12-4 on the weekends.  Sadly, if you want to practice outside of those hours, you need to do it in the gym with a practice blade."  He grinned.  "Unless your name is Alanna.  That's all I have for today unless someone has any questions or a suggestion."

[OOC: Wait for the OCD if you please]

"Willow Rosenberg," Willow said. "I'm learning the Pevensie style."

Parker grinned at Willow. "Alanna was saying that we ought to try sparring sometime. If you've got time."

"Sure," Willow said. "I'm still a newbie though, if that's okay."

"Hey, so am I. I only started back in July. I know how to block, parry, and swing, but I can't do it at speed." Parker shook her head.

Willow looked more hopeful. "Oh! Me too! We sound very matchy then."

Parker grinned. "What time is good for you next week? I have classes and clubs through Wednesday, and I'm free after that. Well, except for Homecoming, of course."

"Hmm," Willow said. "I have a couple of classes on Thursday and mun has bellydance that night so that might be tough. I'd say Friday but does Homecoming start in the morning?

"I-- have no idea." Parker looked thoughtful. "Possibly not? At least, the people I expect to see probably won't show up before the afternoon. And I think the Carnival started in the afternoon last year. Why don't we play it by ear, and I'll catch up with you next week, to see when is good?"

Willow smiled. "Sounds like a good plan. If nothing else we know we'll see each other this time next week."

Parker grinned. "I'd suggest this weekend, but I have Teal Dear stuff to do, and I *still* don't know which night they're opening. Posters and promos and ohmigod I forgot to call Barbossa, I *suck*, and -- "

She might have started hyperventilating for a second. But just a second. "Right, yeah. Stuff to do this weekend. And my mun will be on the De-Emo taskforce, wah."

Willow reached out to pat her on the back. "Have you tried a spreadsheet? I find those help to organize my thoughts."

Parker took a breath. "Mostly I've been using my Blackberry." She looked gleeful for a second. "And this really cool software called Bandtastic, that has spreadsheets all built it. I just--- lost track of a few days." No reason. Nope. "Thanks, though. Maybe I need to download it into another personal organizer, just for the band."

"Can't hurt," Willow said. "It's like recopying your notes to make sure all the letters are neat and everything's in the right place."

"Have you heard of him?" Willow asked. "He's a very famous knight. Order of the Hair Ribbon, in fact."

Willow gave him a coy smile. "I'll think of something."

"May I offer a practical suggestion for the club now?" Willow asked.

"I could try to come up with a spell that works as a sound barrier," Willow said.

"I could ask for permission," Willow said.
