Energy & Fitness Friday Sept 22

Class was in the gym again, Yondaime waited for everyone to show up before handing out the sign up sheet. “Skif, Zuko. You two will be taking turns being part of the class today,” he nodded to the two of them to join the rest of the class.

“Today I will be assigning the teams that you will be in for the rest of the semester. They are set up based on your test results from last week and there will be no switching teams,” the blond explained as he walked along in front of the group. “There are three teams of three and then one team of four that will alternate slightly every week.” Yondaime pulled out a small piece of paper from the pocket of his coat and read off the list.

“Team One will be Veruca Cally, Pip Bernadette, and Dean Forrester. Team Two: Demyx, Edard Elric and Cameron Mitchell. Team three: Togusa, Setsuna Sakurazaki and Jim Ellison. The last team, will be an alternating team consisting of Anders, Alphonse Elric and then depending on the weeks exercise Skif or Zuko”

Next Yondaime took out a small bag that was full of bells. “Today’s exercise we’re going to be going to the danger room and there is one goal for you to accomplish as a team,” he said emphasizing team. “And it’s fairly simple.” He pulled out a set of bells and shrugged off his coat before attaching them to his belt. “Take the bells from me.”

This was a classic exercise passed down through generations of ninja when they were first sectioned off into teams. It showed who was able to work together and who wasn’t, granted though Yondaime had to modify it to fit into a class setting where he couldn’t really do much to the students. “You’ll have an hour in which to take the bells…” He paused a moment and looked thoughtful. “And to help with that….”

The blonde pulled his hands in front of his face twisting his fingers into a strange position. “Kage bunshin no jutsu!” He shouted as a puff of smoke appeared and suddenly there were five Yondaime’s standing there instead of just the one. “There now we won’t be pressed for time and I can watch and observe you all.” he smiled brightly and the rest of them did as well. “You can use anything to your advantage; just make sure that you do it as a team. Now sign in and then we’re off to the Danger Room.”

[OOC: Again! Sorry for the lateness!!!!! But it's probably for the better cause now I'll be around to play? ^^;; ~~Oh and wait for OCD pwease.~~ Bleh OCD is up now.]

"Right. I can see where he starts heading off to, and I can head off there and make them." By this point Alphonse did slip his gloves on. "So I'm ready when we all are."

"Don't make them too soon," Zuko told him. "We don't want him catching on."

He turned to Anders and nodded. "Let's go."

The clone had dashed off and hid himself in the bushes, still smiling as he waited for them to make their move. He had to be alert so that he would be ready for them, as far as powers went he wasn't sure what these kids were capable of except for Zuko of course.

Alphonse turned and sprinted off in the direction he last saw Yondaime run off in; he went slightly off course, trying to at least get close to Yondaime without chasing him off. He halted his running once Alphonse thought he got far enough, looking around to see if he could spot any signs of their teacher anywhere. With nothing to signal so, he began to creep around branches and bushes, hoping to find something eventually.

Zuko and Anders followed straight in Yondaime's trail for as far as they could take it. Anders stuck to the road while Zuko tried to stay parallel to him while staying hidden.

Al could probably see Yondaime bright yellow hair through the green bushes from a little ways off. Not hearing the young boy from the noise that Anders and Zuko seemed to be making.

Alphonse continued tip-toeing carefully among the trees, when he turned his head over and noticed something that looked very out of place.

Like perhaps their teacher's bad attempt at staying hidden (or was it? Not that Alphonse spent much time pondering it). With a grin, he took to hiding as well as he could, keeping a very close eye on Yondaime, and waited for his teammates to make their move.

Zuko and Anders on the other side seemed oblivious to Yondaime's position, but they were gradually making their way towards Al.

Well it was kind of difficult to hide hair like that.... well unless you're in a field or something but that's for another time. Yondaime still didn't seem to notice Al behind him (or at least he wasn't letting on that he did.) And focused more on the two in front that were heading his way.

Alphonse very slowly inched his way towards Yondaime, but didn't move too quickly. Mostly, he was preparing himself to make a block in their teacher's path should he try to get away again. Whenever Zuko and Anders decided to make their move, Alphonse was ready to make his.

The blond hair was hard to hide and as Zuko got closer to where Yondaime was hiding, it was hard to miss. He paused for a brief second, but he didn't want to lose the element of surprise.

Hoping Alphonse was in place, Zuko send a burst of fire right at the brush Yondaime was hiding behind.

"Gah!" He shouted and jumped back towards Al, caught off guard by the sudden appearance of fire.

He recovered quickly and began to put his hands in a sequence of strange positions mumbling something under his breath.

There!

Alphonse clapped and pressed his hands on to the ground, using the earth below to create a fairly large stone wall in the shape of a semi-circle right behind him. This, by now, should've made Alphonse's presence obvious; but at least now Yondaime wouldn't be able to run past him and off into the woods again-- or so he hoped, anyway. With Zuko and Anders advancing on Yondaime from behind, perhaps now it won't be as easy for him to escape.

The sudden presence of a wall behind him distracted the ninja enough for him to loose the jutsu that he had started. He cursed under his breath as he looked for other options to get away, though he was grinning on the inside that they were doing so well.

It wouldn't have been easy for a normal person to get away in this circumstance but the clone did see several options that he could take. Yondaime took the most obvious route, collecting his energy into the soles of his feet before jumping upwards into the branches of the trees above them with a wink and a smile. "Good job guys! You're getting really close."

Zuko wasn't about to give up. Not thinking twice, he climbed up the tree, moving from branch to branch. When he got near the branch Yondaime was on, he sent a fireburst at it, burning the wood right through and hopefully sending Yondaime back on the ground where teachers should be.

If only it were that easy. There were many branches in the forest and Yondaime sincerely hoped that Zuko wouldn't burn them all. "Are you going to burn down the entire forest just to get to me Zuko? I'm flattered but that's hardly necessary." He shouted as he jumped from branch to branch around the boy.

Alphonse bit his lip. Drat, guess the wall idea was far from perfect. He didn't think jumping into the branches would work well; they needed their teacher on the ground.

He quickly darted his sight in pretty much every direction, looking for anything they could use to get him back down. There was nothing but trees though.

Then it hit him; of course, he had the trees, but if Yondaime couldn't use those either... Luckily for Alphonse, trees were just as alterable as any other object. This included the strength of trees, and if they could eventually become weaker and unable to hold up objects in their branches by nature, then he sure as heck could change their makeup to be that way here.

"Zuko, heads up!" Alphonse called, waving a gloved hand-- hopefully that would give him enough warning so Zuko wouldn't collapse to the ground without realizing. In the next second he gave another handclap and threw his hands to the ground once more, changing as many trees as he could as quickly as possible within the area.

The branch under Yondaime that had been steady only a moment before suddenly creaked and groaned under his weight. The ninja jumped to another but that one gave out under him as he put his weight on it and the same with the next that he tried until the clone found himself falling through the air and hitting branches as he went. It landed on the ground in a poof of smoke leaving nothing lying there but the bells.

Despite Alphonse's warning, Zuko was still caught by surprise. He managed to grab on to one of the branches and even if it didn't exactly keep him up, it was enough to slow down his fall.

He hit the ground, but jumped right up. Noticing the bells lying there, he quickly made a grab for them before Yondaime could show up again.

Alphonse stood upright and rubbed his forehead with the back of his hand before he saw Zuko go right for the bells. He looked around, even circled in spot, trying to see if the clone of Yondaime was anywhere to be seen. He didn't spot anything, so Alphonse bounded in Zuko's direction with a large grin on his face. "Hey, we did it!" he beamed.

Zuko stared down at the bells, still somehow expecting for the clone to come back or something. When it didn't happen, his lips curved in the barest of smirks. "Handy trick with the trees."

"I'm just glad this is the Danger Room and not a real forest." Alphonse gave a modest smile. "That thing with the fire you do-- that's pretty amazing, too! I didn't know you could do that."

"I'm a firebender," Zuko said in a way that he expected that to make perfect sense to Alphonse. "But you're more than just an earthbender."

"A firebender?" he asked curiously, though by the name Alphonse figured it obviously had to be something in relation by fire. "Earthbender?" He paused, his expression unsure. "I'm not very sure what that even is."

"Fire benders control fire. Earthbenders control earth," he explained. "An earthbender could have made the walls like you did, but they wouldn't be able to manipulate the trees."
