If the classroom looked a bit like a discount Swedish furniture store had exploded inside of it, well...at least the projectiles were now easily replaceable.

Which might be a good thing.

Precisely on time, Darth Vader swept into the room and slammed the door firmly behind him.

"Today we talk about lying," he said, his masked face scanning the faces in front of him as he prowled around the classroom.

"Everyone lies," he stated flatly. "To hide things, to manipulate others, to avoid...unpleasantness." There was a definite hint of scorn in his voice at that last example. "In class today, you are required to pair up and only tell the truth." His cape whirled behind him. "And I can tell if you are not. Such disobedience will result in detention."

He paused for a moment. "And I don't believe in that axiom where if you cannot say something nice, you don't say anything at all. I do not require you to be nice. I require you to be honest."

He crossed his arms over his chest. "Name. Place of birth. Classes you are taking," he barked out. "Proceed from there."

"Eight...seven..."

"And she's also doesn't know how to count," Jamie continued. "Everyone knows seven comes before eight."

Alanna's eye twitched. "Six...five..."

"How do you get your eyes to vibrate like that?" Jamie asked looking closely at Alanna's face.

"Four...three..." That was a lot of teeth for a smile.

"You shouldn't grind your teeth like that," Jamie advised in a helpful manner. "It's very unladylike*

"Two...one..." Alanna's right hand curled up into a fist.

"Is this the part where we launch the spaceship?"

Alanna's fist connected soundly with Jamie's nose.

And now there were two Jamies. Both holding their nose.

"Oh that was totally uncalled for!"

Alanna growled. "I gave you a very long warning."

Vader came striding across the room. "I'm the only one allowed to do violence in this classroom," he boomed. "Detention. For bo...all of you," he corrected, looking at the multiple Jamies.

"What'd I do?" Jamie said looking astonished.

"In my experience, people don't get hit for no reason," Vader said dryly.

"He had it coming." Alanna said under her breath and sat down, glaring at everyone who happened to be within a five feet of her. "Continue the assignment?" Give her credit: she didn't add any adjectives.

"Fine. My name is Jamie Madrox. I was born in Kansas and I take Internet for Dummies, Health, Biology and Ethics which seems to be more about getting punched in the face than actual ethical stuff."

"Why are you so annoying?" Alanna asked, her teeth still grinding together.

"I'm not annoying," Jamie replied. "You're just bitter because I'm pretty and you don't know how to deal with it. Why does your bag move around?"

"Because there's a cat in it." Alanna told him, her voice very stiff. "And you're not even close to being pretty. Petty? Yeah. Pretty? No."

"Petty? At least I'm not cruel and inhumane," Jamie said reaching over to the bag. "I can't believe you let a cat suffocate in there."

A black paw snapped out of the bag, claws outstretched and ready to draw blood from Jamie's hand. Alanna smirked. "He likes it there. And I don't think he likes you." "I don't." Came a voice from the bag.

Jamie snapped his hand back. "You're cat talks? Why am I not surprised."

Alanna smirked. "I'm a witch and my twin brother is the younget sorceror in a century in our home world. Keep that in mind next to you decide to piss me off?"

Jamie rolled his eyes and repeated: "I'm a witch and my twin brother is the younget sorceror in a century in our home world. Keep that in mind next to you decide to piss me off," in a very whiny and juvenile voice.

Alanna wondered how much trouble she would get into if she turned Jamie into a toad. "Wow, are you always this immature, or am I special?" Headache would be too big, she finally decided. Now breaking something...
