Library [09/14]

Rory opened the library a few minutes early, sweeping in a bit rain-splattered and windblown, but actually smiling.

She settled herself behind the desk, and after straightening the sign displaying the new aides, set to work rereading her favorite passages from The Complete Dorothy Parker.

Angela smiled slightly at that. "It's great you guys have each other. He seemed sweet, and the whole thing is so sad. Not him being here, at all -- but everything else."

She played with a bit of hair. "Marty talked to Principal Washburn about Vader last week," she said finally. "She told him we had nothing to worry about, but ..." She shrugged. "I guess it comes down to your thing about trusting them."

"He's not going to hurt us," she said firmly. "And if he does, Aeryn says that we'll pull a study group on him, and he'll have to deal with that."

Angela looked down for a long moment, thinking, and her eyes were hard when she looked back up. "Study group," she said cautiously, "didn't really work. People got hurt and Drusilla and Darla got away. So if he hurts any of us ..." she sighed. "I hope we're better at it this time."

"I just mean we have people who are capable and want him dead. Other than me," Rory amended. "If he hurts anyone, he'll have to deal with peiple like Aeryn as well as the administration."

"Aeryn's great with this stuff," Angela allowed. "And Angel's just a portal away, too. And there are other people. So at least we have numbers."

"Angel wants me to call him and keep him updated," Rory said, nodding. "And he volunteered his help if we need it."

"Great," Angela said. "Well, not great that, y'know, we might need it. But great that he's in the loop. How's he doing, anyhow? I keep meaning to call him but I don't know what to say."

"He's good," Rory nodded. "He called me a couple days after Anakin left, to check on me. Logan's fine, too. I should go out and visit them at some point."

"I forget, have you been out there at all yet?," Angela asked. "The Hyperion's really nice. Though it's so weird that they haven't killed each other yet."

"Haven't, nope. They want me to come out," Rory said. "And that is very weird. It's hard imagining Logan and Angel in the same place for so long and being...happy. Ish."

"Sometimes weird people fit that way, I guess," Angela sshrugged. "Plus, separate floors, so it's not like they're on top of each other."

Angela was quite naive at times.

"Anyhow, you should go sometime. Just for the vacation, and everything."

"I never have been to California," Rory said. "And Veronica invited me to visit her at Hearst sometime. Maybe I'll make a trip of it this year."

"Marty was going to visit Veronica, probably sometime next month," Angela said. "I might tag along, depending."

"Ooh, you should go," Rory encouraged. "It'll be warm there, and freezing here."

"Ooh, point," Angela said. "I could get tan again and all of that." She smiled. "They might leave Fandom, but they can't get rid of us."
