"I call every week," Naomi replied, "just to let her know I'm okay and stuff, I don't exactly tell her everything that goes on in Fandom ... one of my friends from Voyager who's currently completing an intern back home on one of Starfleet's flagships emailed and he somehow figured out the time difference and wanted to know, but he's not telling mom," she paused, "mainly because I asked him not to," she added

"That's the best kind of friend there is, right there. And your mom doesn't need to know everything."

"Yeah he's a good friend," Naomi nodded, "and it's much easier with mom not knowing,"

"I'd say I understand, but I've never had a mom. There are things I'd rather Sophia never knew, though."

Naomi nodded, "I guess there are some things in life that we don't want people to know, makes it less complicated -" she paused, "even though sometimes that doesn't always work, depending on the situation,"

"It does sometimes make me feel like I'm in a bad sitcom."

"Which I'm assuming is a lot like a bad sitcom anyway?"

"It could be looked at it that way," Naomi replied, "a holonovel is like an interactive book,"

"Oh. That actually sounds pretty neat."

"They're pretty cool," Naomi affirmed, "of course I've grown up with them so it's easy for me to say that,"

"I wish we could get something like that here, then. It might make the literature classes that much more interesting."

"The Literature in Action class is pretty interesting," Naomi replied, "but I've always loved reading so that's probably why,"

"I never really had time to read a lot before I got here. But I've found some good books since I did."

"It's good to be able to find time to read," Naomi said, "it also helps to enjoy what you're reading,"

"What kind of books do you like?"

"A bit of everything," Naomi replied, "favorite novel's a historical fiction novel called The Lost Letters of Aquitaine but I love everything ranging from romance to history to fantasy,"

"Ever read any spy novels?"

"I've read a few of them," Naomi replied

"Those were always the stories I liked best."
