Thursday Next's Office Hours - Monday, September 4

Thursday had finally managed to find a temporary babysitter. She would have to figure out a schedule or something, or call in Mrs Bradshaw as an absolute last resort.

So now she had an office. It had a door, a desk, a phone, a lamp and a chair. Oh, and one meagre bookshelf. She was definitely going to have to see to improving that.

Nevertheless, now she had time to read over the rest of her orientation package and finalise her class for the week.

The door was propped open in case anyone wanted to stop by.

"There are actually quite a few of us," Hermione assures her with a little smile. "I wanted to ask, since I've mostly been reading textbooks as of late, if there were any prerequisites I should be familiar with to start off. I don't want to be behind at all."

Thursday flicked through a few pieces of paper and offered a copy of the syllabus (http://no-toast-thanks.livejournal.com/1567.html). "I understand that literature isn't as popular here as it is where I come from, so I've chosen topics that I hope will be familiar at least by reputation. None of them are particularly difficult. This is intended as an introductory class."

"This will do nicely, thank you," she says, looking over the list. "I recognize the authors, too. This should be enough to get me started." Because Hermione can't take an introductory class on anything.
