Ivanova stood before her small, motley crew with parade-ground precision, her back straight and her hands clasped behind her back. It might have been far more impressive – or perhaps was more impressive – given that she had returned to the short shorts and tank top look. She was enjoying her freedom while she had it.

"This is our last workshop," she announced. "And I have to say that I've greatly enjoyed my time with you. Your natural talent is impressive and I can only hope that I helped you focus your skills a little better. I know that I was taking notes for myself and if I ever need a vacation, I know who I'm calling in as my back-up." She smiled. "I don't know what more to tell you. Know only that your words will soon be ringing in the ears of uppity captains from Earth to Centauri Prime. I hope you keep in touch."

She relaxed her stance slightly and grinned. "So. For our last class, I'm going to kill you. Dying soliloquys. Iambic pentameter encouraged but not required. You can die dramatically while you're at it, if you like." She waved a box of tissues around for a moment. "In case of sniffles. Go to, go to. It is not so wide as a church door . . ."

[[Srsly, guys, I love you. This class really brightened up a hellish time for me and I just wish I had been around more to play with all of you. Ivanova's sticking around for another week-ish so you can say your last goodbyes, and I hope you'll call. Or write. Or ping me on AIM and we'll twalk. *sniffle* Group hug!]]

Kawalsky was unable to attend class today, so he made sure to leave Ivanova a letter.

Taken roomie for birthday present of a life time. Not dirty.

As my final mono dialogue thing, I will ~~say~~ write this:

Life's short. Bad guys will try to kill you. Stop them or die.

And if all else fails, run away and find your Russian, hockey-playing friend from space and crash on her couch.

Wise words I will live by.

Phoebe approached Ivanova and she was already sniffling and her eyes were red-rimmed.

Ivanova's eyes widened and she took Phoebe by the arms, looking at her with concern. "Phoebe, what's wrong?" No one would be this broken up by her leaving.

Phoebe tried not to cry. "Bad day yesterday, bad morning today."

Ivanova hugged her a bit awkwardly. "That's too bad, Phoebe. You don't have to stay."

"Thanks." Phoebe hugged her back and nodded. "Can I find you and talk later? I just can't... not right now..."

"You're leaving?" River looked sad.

Ivanova nodded with a small smile. "Yeah, I'm leaving. I have graduated, and I have a job to get back to."

"Oh," River said. "That's good. The job. I'll miss you."

That made her smile. "I'll miss you, too, River."

"But I have the rabbit," she added with a grin.

As much as Ranma fears her... he shuffles over and mumbbles "Goodbye."

Being completely unaware of this fear, Ivanova offered him a bright smile. "Goodbye, Saotome."

The smile disarms him and he's able to smile back himself, "Have a safe trip."

"Thanks." She grinned and ducked her head in a nod. "You seem like a good kid."

"Uh.. Thanks." Ranma laughs a bit, and waves as he turns to leave, class is over after all.

"Hey, I'm leaving too. Not to, you know, steal your thunder or anything."

Ivanova chuckled. "I'm quite willing to share my thunder. That's too bad."

"Yeah. I really would like to stay but ~~I have to win back my ex almost girlfriend~~ I have people, human and otherwise who need me back in New York."

She nodded. "I can understand that. I have people, human and otherwise, who need me back on the station. It isn't where I want to be, but it's where I have to be."
