Photography Workshop [8/23]

There was a spread of pastries from J,GOB along with coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in the front of the classroom.

"Well, gang, this is our last workshop," Veronica said. "You've all done a great job with your pictures. Today, you can spend some time in the darkroom developing your last batch of photos. Then I want you to go through all the pictures you've taken over the last seven weeks and choose your favorite three to five to display for your classmates."

"I really learned so much," Angela said, then reached into her bag and pulled out a heavy, flat package. "I got you a little thank-you gift. For class, and for being a friend."

Veronica opened the package and swallowed hard. "Thank you," she said. "You didn't have to do that."

"I wanted to," Angela said simply. "It reminded me of you, somehow." She swallowed herself. "We'll see you again before you go, right?"

"I'm not leaving until Sunday night," she replied. "Tomorrow's my last night at Caritas and I'll be around all weekend."

"Marty and I are going to D.C. to look at colleges and staying overnight Friday, but we'll be around too, otherwise," Angela said. "So ... I'll see you."

Veronica nodded and gave Angela a hug.

"You guys will have to come out and visit me in California. I'll take you to the beach."
