The dangershop was set up as a classy, futuristic function room, with holographic waiters carrying trays of food and drink, and Harper was wearing a suit instead of his usual clothes. "This is our last class," Harper said, fidding with his tie. "Congratulations on surviving so far. Since, as I just said, we're going to be doing something a little different today."

"We're going to be having a party. However, you are not going to be the only guests. This is an important conference, with many important dignitaries and assorted others attending. Your job is not just to have a good time, you also have to ensure they do too. Schmooze, mingle, butter them up, try to not to start an interstellar war. The usual kind of thing."

"One more thing. Not everyone at this conference is here for the conference, amongst the guests, there are people with other agendas. Some worse than others. Try and figure out who these people are and what they want."

He tapped a control and the room filled with guests.

"Go on, get out there and mingle."

Sam stepped up to the bar to wait for her drink and listened attentively to what the blue alien was telling other people.

"...so that is why stable wormhole travel is scitifically impossible." Hohne said to his latest victim, who looked just about ready to flee.

"Excuse me, sir, but I believe you're incorrect about your conclusion," Sam tried to be as polite as possible while still stopping the further spread of wrong information throughout the galaxy."

Hohne looked at Sam. "You mean you have proof otherwise?" He asked in a positively gleeful tone.

Sam immediately backed up a few steps. "Proof? Um, no..."

Hohne looked a lot less gleeful. "Darn, and I was hoping to bring back something for the people of Sinitii to debate."

"Well, theoretically," Sam said, unable to resist, "there should be a way to create a stable wormhole using technology that we don't have access to on this planet yet. It just makes sense."

"Now you're just teasing me."

"No, I'm not," she said as she launched into an incredibly intricate, technical and long explanation of how the 'gates worked (including planetary drift) without ever mentioning the actual 'gates, DHDs, or the Ancients. "It's just too bad we don't have anything like that here. We're thousands of years away from it, technologically speaking."

"I see," Hohne bounced like a puppy. "You'd need some something to anchor the wormholes though."

Sam nodded, frowning slightly. "Yeah, you would. I can't imagine what you'd make them out of, though."

"That doesn't matter," Hohne said. "The scientific enquiry about the math alone will take us years to debate over."

"Isn't it exciting?" Sam bounced a little in dorky glee.

"Definitely."
