The dangershop was set up as a classy, futuristic function room, with holographic waiters carrying trays of food and drink, and Harper was wearing a suit instead of his usual clothes. "This is our last class," Harper said, fidding with his tie. "Congratulations on surviving so far. Since, as I just said, we're going to be doing something a little different today."

"We're going to be having a party. However, you are not going to be the only guests. This is an important conference, with many important dignitaries and assorted others attending. Your job is not just to have a good time, you also have to ensure they do too. Schmooze, mingle, butter them up, try to not to start an interstellar war. The usual kind of thing."

"One more thing. Not everyone at this conference is here for the conference, amongst the guests, there are people with other agendas. Some worse than others. Try and figure out who these people are and what they want."

He tapped a control and the room filled with guests.

"Go on, get out there and mingle."

"I am the leader of one of the most powerful Neitzschean prides in existence," he replied. "I'm not meant to share anything."

"I was going to share with you," John says, already not liking whoever this was.

"But we're at a party, there's more than enough twinkies for everyone."

John scowls and puts the Twinkie greeting to rest.

"My name's John. What's yours?"

"Archduke Charlemagne Bolivar of the Sabra-Jaguar pride," he replied.

That's a long name.

"Can I call you Charlie?"

Silence.

Then, "No. You may call me Archduke Bolivar or Your Grace."

John grimaces.

"That's no good. How about Rollie?"

Bolivar chocked on his hideously expensive glass of champange.

"Rollie?"

"Yeah," John says, thinking he might've perked up Rollie's interest. "It makes you more personable, more of a friends to your subjects instead of their Grace or something."

"Let me think about it. No."

"The ladies would like it," John says smoothly.

"My wives already like Charlemagne more than enough."

"That sounds like a type of fish." John makes a face. "No one wants to sound like a fish."

"Rollie sounds like a dog's name!"

He has a point but John doesn't want to concede that. "Okay, compromise? Rollo."

"I do not have a chewy caramel centre!"

"I didn't know that!" John steps back and glares at Rollo. "Fine, Bollo!"

"I command the third largest fleet in known space," Bolivar said. "Do you really want the surface of your home world redcued to molten glass?"

"Hey! We have Power Rangers!"

"Oh, yes, the height of genetic superiority is going to be defeated by teenagers in spandex."

"Your hair is ugly."

Okay, maybe not the best thing to say but this guy was an ass.

Bolivar raised his bonespurs. "What did you just say?"

"It's very not cool," John says, stepping back a bit. "Not very king like."

"I'm an archduke, I don't have to be kingly."
