Baking Workshop 8/21, Monday Morning

"Good morning," Piper greets quietly. She might be sad because this is her last workshop ever. "Hopefully, you all brought a recipe of your choice today. If not, feel free to use any of the recipes from this session."

"Thanks for signing up for the workshop and for being a pretty awesome class," she continued, giving them a warm smile.

"Nothing bad," Angela said, a little nervously. "I just wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed this class. My dad's been trying to teach me to cook forever, but I never made a cheesecake before I took this."

"Thanks for signing up for it. It was a good session, I think," Piper said with a grin. "Think you'll cook more now?"

"I'll try to cook more, anyhow," Angela said. "And definitely when I go home."

"Glad to hear that," Piper said. "I hope this class was helpful in some way."

"Absolutely," Angela said. "So ... where are you going to college?"

"Berkeley. It has a pretty good business program and it's close to home," Piper said. "After that, I plan to go to culinary school."

"So you'll be ready to open a restaurant?," Angela asked. "My dad does that -- it's kind of hard, but I think he's happy. Good luck with everything."

She left out the whole Hallie-affair-separation part of the saga. She didn't know Piper that well, and it wasn't exactly encouraging.

"Yeah, I'd like to open a restaurant someday," Piper replied. She gave Angela a warm smile. "Thanks. Good luck with being a senior."
