"Braaaaaaaaains," said Nadia.

Jamie stirred the soup carefully with a spoon as though looking for any brain matter. "I don't see anything. Is it your brain?"

Nadia offered Jamie a rude gesture.

"Tomato soup at Cafe Fina was brain soup. I don't trust the Chef."

"But the chef here isn't the chef at Cafe Fina," Jamie said taking a sip of the soup. "Mmmm. Good brains. Definitely not yours."

Cue the rude gesture again. "Careful, I know where you sleep."

"Yes. I now keep a caffinated dupe under my bed in case you or your cat try to do anything to me while I sleep again," Jamie said cheerfully. He then takes another big spoonful of soup. "Damn! This is mighty fine soup, Santos!"

Jamie holds out a spoonful in front of Nadia's face. "Go on. Take a slurp."

Nadia recoiled backwards and fell off her seat with a thwump.

"I hate you, Madrox,"

"What? It's just soup," Jamie said taking another noisy slurp. "I can't help it if you're all weird about soup."

"Brain soup. . . . Fingertips . . . dead vegetables. . . ."

Nadia shuddered from her position on the floor.

"You need to lay off on the brownies," Jamie said continuing to slurp loudly on the soup. "No fingertips here. Also? Most vegetables are already dead when they are brought to the table."

"Veggie burger = veggie murder."

Jamie pointed his grilled cheese sandwich at Nadia. "Hey. Cows have feelings to you know. I eat all creatures and vegetables with the same moral lapses that everyone else does."

Nadia blinked at him slowly. "Sorry. Quoting someone else. I eat vegetables. Not brains."

"Could have fooled me," Jamie said with a smirk. "You certainly have a zombie-quality to you right now."

"Sake. Hangover. Sucks."

"Headache?" Jamie asked sypathetically.

Nadia nodded. "Hoping food will help. But not soup."

"Any nausea?" Jamie asked sympathetically.

"Whole. Nine. Yards. But I had a workshop this morning and lots of water."

"I know the perfect cure," Jamie said seriously.

"If you say brain soup, so help me. . . ."

"Do you really think I would be that mean?"

". . . sometimes?"

"I'm hurt that you would think that," Jamie said with puppy dog eyes.

"You're still plotting your revenge for the purple marker incident. How do I know I can trust you?"
