First Aid II, Danger Shop, Tuesday Morning

Elliot was rubbing her forehead as the students filed in, and her voice was soft as she greeted them.

"Hey. I have a killer headache, and today's class is a review session anyhow. I've gotten the Danger Shop to give each of you a laptop loaded with a computer game designed to test your emergency-management skills. Post your scores and I'll have a prize next week for the person with the highest one."

"Next week we'll finish with a Danger Shop party like last time. If you want to invite a guest? Go for it."

Done talking, Elliot rests at her desk, eyes closed.

"Ah, yes. Tyler was telling me about him," Peter said. "You found him well and safe?"

"Finally, yes. He ended up at Jarod's in town." She rolled her eyes. "And then consume half his weight in sugar while we watched movies that night. He left again yesterday, somehow. I've learned it's better not to ask questions." Parker winced. "Was Tyler mad? He seemed okay when I saw him, if a bit freaked out."

"He will be well by himself?" Peter asked, concerned. He considered the question about Tyler for a second before answering. "More worried and nervous than mad, I think."

"He'll be back with people who know how to take care of him again by-- well, now, probably. With any luck, an e-mail will be waiting for me after classes." She grimaced. "I think I owe everyone Angelo invaded a drink. Maybe I'll let them know they can collect this weekend, sometime."

Peter nodded. "I'm glad to hear it." He grinned. "I have a feeling that anyone who had hard feelings would lose them quickly with that temptation."

"I also think a lot of people will show up *claiming* to be upset, who Angelo never met. What the hell. I'll never know exactly where he was the whole time anyway." She palmed her face. "Sometime, I'll explain more about it, maybe. If you want to know, that is."

"Oh, I'm certain you're very right about that," Peter said. "But it's possibly to be expected here." He nodded. "I would, if you'd like to tell me."

"I'm trying to process it, still. But... yeah. I don't want to lie about it. And at least you won't mock." She gave him a sideways smile. "Anyway. We've saved lives. Sort of. And next week is the *last* time you can get me up at six a.m. I'll tell you on our run, maybe."

Peter smiled back. "I shan't mock, no. But I'm shocked you don't wish to keep running anyway. Perhaps we'll have an early class together in the fall to keep up the tradition."

"We'll seeeee." Parker shook her head. "Between learning swordfighting from Alanna, playing Pyramid to keep Daisy busy, and the occasional spar with Aeryn or Bridge, and regular workouts? No, I'm not gonna miss the running." She grinned. "But the company was always entertaining."

"At least I kept you entertained," Peter replied, sweeping a bow. "How's the swordwork going anyhow?"

"Slooooow," Parker said, drawing the word out, "but not badly, I think. My body is catching on, it's just a fight to not respond the way I would if I were unarmed. Too many learned responses to ignore."

Peter nodded. "I gave Pip a lesson yesterday and noticed him struggling with the same things. But in general anyways, swordwork is slower to learn than unarmed fighting. There's more to think about most of the time." He grinned. "Or maybe I'm prejudiced."

Parker stuck out her tongue at him, then grinned. "Alanna already warned me how long it's going to take to get competent. Which is discouraging, but not enough for me to quit. When did you start?" She grinned. "And you realize, that since school starts in two weeks, you've only got about three or four before you have to start running for StuCo."

"I'm not trying to discourage you," Peter replied, holding his hands up palm out. "Quite the opposite. I'm excited about anyone who wishes to pick up a sword. I started learning when I was 12." He grinned back. "What all in involved in that then?"

"Good to know." Parker looked thoughtful. "Last time, it was mostly just posters with information about what you could do for StuCo. The fall campaign had a debate, though. Which was amusing, from what I heard. And there were a *few* dirty tricks played in both campaigns." She tried to look censorious. "Tsk, tsk."

Peter laughed. "I very much want to hear about that." He glanced at the time. "But I'm going to be late for lunch. I'll ask you about it next week?"

"Works. See you then, English."
