In Regards To All Mathematics Courses

Students:

Because of employment problems, Death shall no longer be heading the math department at [livejournal.com profile] fandomhigh. I shall be taking her place. I will continue to offer the courses she had originally outlined, but the way that they shall be run will be quite different.

Courses offered
Primary Mathematics, Secondary Mathematics, Advanced Theory: Origins, and Advanced Theory: Literature and Art

Course Descriptions
Primary Mathematics will be a basic set of lessons on algebra and geometry. Nightly homework assignments will be a requirement and essential to doing well in the course, with readings passed out in class for each assignment until there has been enough time for students to acquire their text books. There will be regular quizzes, a final exam at each incrimental grading period, and at least two major projects by the time the year is complete.
TIMES: Monday, Wednesday, 2:45 to 4:30 PM

Secondary Mathematics will go into more specific areas of math, ranging from statistics to calculus and how math can be incorporated into the medical and biological sciences, though these will not be the focus. Be prepared for rigorous assignments assigned on a weekly basis (do NOT leave to the night before) and will also constitute as a major part of the grade. Weekly quizzes and monthly tests and a final culminating presentation piece will be included as a part of the course.
TIMES: Tuesday, Friday 2:45 to 4:30 PM

Advanced Theory: Origins will focus on how the mathematics that multiple dimensions use at current came to be. Text books will be assigned a week in advance, though these texts are still being debated at present.
TIMES: Thursday, 3-6 PM

Advanced Theory: Literature and Arts will be an intense course focusing on how mathematics are incorportated with modern literature and art.
TIMES: Thursday, 7-10 AM

For BOTH Advanced Theory courses, it would be suggested that you find a partner to discuss the week's reading outside of class. Grading will be dependent upon regular reading quizzes (to verify that you are actually up-to-date), class participation, and four to six projects, essays, or creative presentations.

Pre-requisites Though there are NONE, please consider your ability to complete the requirements for each course.

In The Class
You are all to regard eachothers work and opinions with the utmost respect. Controversially, be prepared to defend all opinions with proof, either algerbriacally or through text (in the case of the A.T. classes). Those who do not abide by either the schools regulations or my own will recieve ready discipline. As for what to call me, in class I will be regarded as "Sir" or "Mr. Khan," while outside of classes you are welcome to call me by Nadir if the occasion is suitable.

Out Of Class
I am available during office hours and upon appointment. I will not be remaining on campus outside of prior arrangements (classes, perhaps sponsored clubs, meetings, etc.)

Conflicts With Scheduling
For both Primary and Secondary mathematics courses, you may attend a minimum of one of the sessions, required that you still complete ALL of the homework, and spend your own independent time to to learn the information you missed from classes. For the Advanced Theory courses, you must attend two thirds of the total hours a month (8 to 10 hours total depending on the month) and will have to prepare extra essays to make up for the missed discussion time.
If there are so many conflicts with this scheduling that less than 4 students are able to take the courses, those hours will be re-arranged.

Syllabi specific to the course you take will be passed out within the next week. Please sign below with name, place of origin, and which courses you are interested in, including those who ALREADY signed up for the courses with the prior teacher if you are still interested.

Hope that many of you will join, sign-up rosters will stay up for the next week due to delay in posting,

Sir Nadir Khan
