Advanced Computers #4, Wednesday Afternoon 8/2

The computer lab is set up with a webcam and a plasma screen, showing a lab with two people talking.

"...it was a cigarette butt, Gibbs. It wasn't a lot to go on."

"So you don't have anything?"

"Gibbs, I'm hurt! You should know me better than that. In addition to missing marine's dna I found traces of dihydrocodeine, ephedrine and caffeine. "

"Abby."

"It was a high enough concentration that it could have knocked-"

"Abs." The man pointed up and Abby grinned at the screen that showed the class from Fandom.

"Oh, hey guys! Sorry that I couldn't be there today. I had to drive in and take care of a few things at the lab. You see, there's this marine bomb specialist who's missing-ow!" Abby rubbed the back of her head where Gibbs had smacked it.

"Next week you guys are going to be going through a maze, and the doors can only be unlocked with the answers to computer questions. You'll break up into teams, two teams of three and one team of four. The people on the winning team will each get a gift certificate to Best Buy to buy geek goodies. So find your team today and start boning up on your computer knowledge. Also, everyone submit one question for the maze. I'll add the best ones in next week!"

[OCD up!]

"Yeah. And no offense, but I think Bridge might have a bit of an advantage over you here," Cally said.

"A lot of one." Conner really had no illusions about his computer skills. "But we have until next week, right? And my friend Ethan back home happens to be a computer genius. And Hayley. Can't forget Hayley."

He opened up a web browser and typed up a quick email.

From: totallytriassic@gmail.com
To: iamdetonationman@gmail.com, hayley@hayleyscyberspace.com
Priority: High
Subject: Help!

Hey Ethan and Hayley,

Got a big project coming up for computer workshop next week.Got any trivia or FAQ-type stuff you can send my way?

-- Conner

A quick click on "Send," and hopefully help would be on the way. He glanced over and noticed that Sam Winchester had teamed up with Willow, Zack, and Bridge. "Guess that means Alec's with us."

"There's still Broots, Jude, and Mac," Cally pointed out. "Though I wouldn't mind Alec, that's for sure."

"Oh, good point. Wouldn't mind Mac, myself." Conner facepalmed. "I am so not single. Why do I say these things?!?"

Re: In Class Chatter

[identity profile] sogothcally.livejournal.com 2006-08-02 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
"Because you probably should be single," Cally said.

". . . what's that supposed to mean?"

"I'm saying your interest in the field might mean you're not meant for what you think you're tied to," Cally said. "I speak from experience."

"And we're changing the subject again before things get nasty," Conner replied without missing a beat, then sighed. "You're right, though."

"Okay," Cally said, thinking it might actually be possible that Conner was even more sensitive than Anders about stuff. Which was kinda scary.

"So, how about pie? I like pie. Mmmm, pie."

It was, in fact, quite possible that Conner was even more sensitive about some stuff than Anders was. It came with the whole protector-complex thing. Besides, all Red Rangers have a not-so-super-sekrit sensitive side. Even Jack. But not Leo and Cole. Them's the rules. Look at Nick and his blankie!

"Eh. More of a pastry guy myself," Conner said. "Preferably the kind with the really flaky dough."

"You are what you eat," Cally said, snickering.

"So what does that make me? A cream puff?"

Re: In Class Chatter

[identity profile] sogothcally.livejournal.com 2006-08-02 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)
"Or a total flake," Cally said, giggling.

Re: In Class Chatter

"No, no, no." Conner shook a finger at her. "Eric is the flake, not me."

Cally scowled at the finger. "Oh?"

Re: In Class Chatter

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-08-02 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"My brother, yeah. So if you ever see someone who looks just like me but acts like a spaz? That's Eric."

Re: In Class Chatter

[identity profile] sogothcally.livejournal.com 2006-08-02 08:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Right," Cally said. "More of a spaz, got it."

Re: In Class Chatter

[identity profile] connernotconnor.livejournal.com 2006-08-02 08:47 pm (UTC)(link)
". . . I'm not a spaz!"

Conner might not have super-speed any more, but apparently he had super powers of denial.

Re: In Class Chatter

[identity profile] sogothcally.livejournal.com 2006-08-02 09:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"You just keep telling yourself that."

Cally paused.

"Spaz."

"Am not!" Conner yelped.

Further proving Cally's point.
