The Kludge's Guide to the Universe | Dangershop, Wednesday Afternoon (Week 4)

"Now that you've mastered the art of the clever escape, it's time to master the speedy one."

Harper tapped a control, bringing up the empty cells from last week. "After all, breaking out of your cell is only the beginning."

"Your objective today is to make it to the spaceport on the other side of this dangerous, seedy city. You can split up, stay together, try to meet up with other escapees, then beg, bluff, and bribe your way though the city. One caveat though, keep violence to a minimum, not only does it attract attention, attacking your pursuers makes it personal. This goes double for deaths. You kill someone? You fail the exercise, as does everyone you're with at the time."

[ooc: The guards and inhabitants of the city are moddable for the most part since I'm kinda brain dead tonight but there might be a surprise or two.]

"Always a plus in hats," Sam snickered, walking quickly to catch up. "And no fair, your legs are longer."

Her extra two inches in height couldn't get there soon enough.

"They're good legs," Cameron agreed, ignoring the looks his hat was getting from the people around them. At least the troopers seemed to think they were just harmless idiots or something and the quickly ignored him.

Sam couldn't ignore the looks from the people around them, but she was playing the part of the blonde girlfriend type person, so she didn't have to.

"They are good legs," she agreed. "Just move them a little more slowly."

"Sorry, dear," he said with a smirk, slowing down a bit. "Okay, if I was a spaceport, I'd be somewhere spacey but available."

"And that would be..." Sam turned in a circle, looking around, "maybe towards the water?"

"Oooo, access by ship too. Smart thinking," he nodded and changed direction to head towards the river. The crowd here was already starting to thin as they were moving away from the shops.

"Thanks," Sam said, walking towards the river. "Other than the escaping part, this hasn't been so bad, huh?"

"I feel that if I agree, someone is going to come up and shove me in the water and steal my hat," Cameron said, suspiciously.

"Why would I want that hat?" Sam shielded her eyes from the sun as she looked at him. "I mean, not that it's not very fashion-forward..."

"You're not someone," Cameron paused and blinked at her. "Are you planning to push me in the water?"

Sam looked at him innocently. "Of course not. That would be wrong."

"Yeah, it would be," Cameron agreed and glanced over Sam's shoulder noticing a patrol passing. "Dude, this place has more security Fandom."

"It's also got a prison," Sam nodded, also keeping an eye on the patrol, "but I bet Tex can still kick ass and take names here."

"She's scary," he grimaced and suddenly tilted his head, picking up on a sound. "Do you hear that?"

"Hear what?" But Sam had felt something. Maybe an earthquake?

The noise Cameron had heard grew louder and it seemed to be coming from above them. Cameron shielded his eyes and grinned as he noticed a craft descending. "Maybe we should ask them the way."

"No one likes a show-off, Mitchell," Sam smirked as she headed off in that direction.

"You're just jealous of my hat," Cameron argued as he quickly followed her. He pulled off the hat and held it out the her. "Here, have a go."

Sam plopped it on her head, then tucked her hair up into it. It was far from the silliest looking thing she'd ever had on her head. "A little heavy."

Which wonder by wonder, it did. Cameron quickly straightened up and tried to ignore the glare one of the troopers send him.

"Is this guy bothering you, miss?"

Sam didn't snicker, but it was close. She glanced at Cameron, then shook her head, "No. He, um, we're fine." She blinked and looked up at the trooper, trying to look as young and harmless as possible. "We didn't mean to cause trouble. We're very, very sorry. Thank you very much for looking out for me, though."
