The Kludge's Guide to the Universe | Dangershop, Wednesday Afternoon (Week 4)

"Now that you've mastered the art of the clever escape, it's time to master the speedy one."

Harper tapped a control, bringing up the empty cells from last week. "After all, breaking out of your cell is only the beginning."

"Your objective today is to make it to the spaceport on the other side of this dangerous, seedy city. You can split up, stay together, try to meet up with other escapees, then beg, bluff, and bribe your way though the city. One caveat though, keep violence to a minimum, not only does it attract attention, attacking your pursuers makes it personal. This goes double for deaths. You kill someone? You fail the exercise, as does everyone you're with at the time."

[ooc: The guards and inhabitants of the city are moddable for the most part ~~since I'm kinda brain dead tonight~~ but there might be a surprise or two.]

"Usually they're in a central location," she says. "Head towards the center of the city, keep an eye out for tourists."

Jamie looked around and started heading toward what he thought would be the center of the city. "So what do alien tourists look like," Jamie said in a sotto tone of voice. "Because I'm not seeing any Hawaiian shirts or anything like that.

"Luggage, usually," she says, looking up at the sky as she walks like she's expecting the sun to come out any second. "People who look like they have no idea where they're headed, or are in a rush..."

"So basically we're looking for us but without the luggage," Jamie quipped and then looked up. "Why do you keep looking at the sky?"

"Checking the weather," she says, which is the truth. "Looking for rain." That's not.

"Why? Are you going to melt?" Jamie joked and then elbowed Aeryn and nodded over to two humanoids carrying luggage and wearing loud garish clothing. "What do you think?"

Aeryn nods, casually changing direction to follow them. "My species doesn't melt. Does yours?"

"Not in the rain," Jamie commented trying to see if anyone was following them. "I'm sure there's one mutant out there that can melt themselves into a pile of goo. If there is I haven't met him or her yet."

Jamie watched as the humanoid couple turn the corner and he quickened his pace so as not to lose them. "So what does happen to your species when it gets wet?"

"We get covered in water and have to dry off," she says, still staying casual. Jamie's doing the lookout thing, more than one person doing it would really tip someone off.

Jamie gives Aeryn a weird look. "You're a little odd. You know that?"

As they turn the corner Jamie sees the humanoid couple enter a building. "Is that it?" Jamie asks looking over the building doubtfully.

Aeryn looks up again, this time to see air traffic. "Looks like," she says. And doesn't say they did well because they're not out of class yet.

Jamie nods to the entrance which has several guards stationed in front of it. "Think there's another entrance?"

"Probably several," she says, again changing direction just a little to walk with a group of people headed there. "Blend in."

Jamie attempts to blend like a blending thing.

Which in Jamie's manner isn't very good as he's playing with his sock puppet.

Aeryn looks over and notices this, and shakes her head at him as they walk.

Jamie give Aeryn a hurt look but stuffs the sock puppet in his coat. "What do we do if they ask for ID?" Jamie whispered.

"Knock them out, run inside, and find a way from there."

Jamie thought about that for a second and nodded. "If that doesn't work? I have a back up plan."

The group they were blending in with started to go through the entrance of the building single file.

"Does it involve the puppet?" she whispers.

"Don't be silly," Jamie whispers back.

By the time they get to the guard, it's obvious that they are in fact asking for identification. At which point Aeryn pats herself down just so she can get up there and say, "I seem to have lost mine."

Which never works. Still worth a shot.

"Can we get a move on please? I have a ship to catch!" Jamie said standing behind Aeryn and acting like an annoyed traveler.
