The Kludge's Guide to the Universe | Dangershop, Wednesday Afternoon (Week 4)

"Now that you've mastered the art of the clever escape, it's time to master the speedy one."

Harper tapped a control, bringing up the empty cells from last week. "After all, breaking out of your cell is only the beginning."

"Your objective today is to make it to the spaceport on the other side of this dangerous, seedy city. You can split up, stay together, try to meet up with other escapees, then beg, bluff, and bribe your way though the city. One caveat though, keep violence to a minimum, not only does it attract attention, attacking your pursuers makes it personal. This goes double for deaths. You kill someone? You fail the exercise, as does everyone you're with at the time."

[ooc: The guards and inhabitants of the city are moddable for the most part ~~since I'm kinda brain dead tonight~~ but there might be a surprise or two.]

No matter what happens this time, Jamie is keeping his pants on.

"We've gotten this far," Aeryn says. "Care to take it the rest of the way while keeping all articles of clothing on?"

"Yes, I'd prefer to make my escape without having to streak," Jamie agreed as he looked around the corner to see a pair of guards at the exit.

"Two guards. Any ideas on how to take them out?"

"Yes. Do you still have the pen from last week? I brought my own, but you can take one, too."

Jamie looked at his pen with concern. "Don't tell me you want me to kill them."

Aeryn doesn't remind him about last week's semi-self-strangulation. Instead she sighs and says, "Can you settle for knocking one of them out?"

"Sure. I'll lure them down here," Jamie said pulling out his sock puppet and putting it on his hand. He then stuck the puppet around the corner.

"Oh heeeeeeeeello? Mr. Guard-like thing? Please come down here. I'm in desperate need of a fluff cycle."

Jamie stomped a couple of times creating duplicates in order to monkey pile on the guards as soon as they turned the corner.

Aeryn manages not to, and as soon as the guards are... monkey piled on, she says, "All right, let's continue." And shakes her head. One hit was all she'd need to keep them incapacitated. Or a pen. The pen was better.

Xander glances at Molly, then at the guards down the hall. "Think they're the type to listen to reason?" he asks.

Molly smacked her right fist into her left hand. "They'll listen to my reason," she said.

Cameron was having a sense of deja vu. He looked around suspiciously and really hoped Tyr wasn't going to show up.

Sam glanced at the guards as she short-circuited the lock the way she had the week before. "How's the coast looking? Clear?"

Cameron shook his head as the guards were chatting a distance away. It took another couple of minutes for them to finally move on to the next corridor and he nodded at Sam. "We're good," he whispered. "And you've got to teach me that trick."

"I'll add it to the list," Sam whispered back, keeping low and against the wall as she crept out of the cell, signaling for Cam to follow her. "It's really just a matter of finding out which wire is the ground..."

"Oh yeah, simple," Cameron followed after her, trying to copy her and stay low against the wall.

"No, it really is," Sam was about to launch into an explanation when she spotted one of the guards on his rounds. She immediately shut up, but stood and tried to look casual, keeping her face towards the wall. Nothing more conspicuous than being down on your hands and knees when a guard walked by.

The guard came to a stop as he noticed Sam, slightly confused as she should be running away not just sitting there. "What are you doing?" he barked, raising a weapon.

He hadn't seen Cameron yet, but that wouldn't last and Cameron did the only thing he could think of. He launched himself at the guard, using his fully body weight to impact with his legs. The guard went down, but Cameron doubted it would last long and quickly scrambled back to his feet.

"Nice," Sam approved as she stepped over the guard and quickly made her way down the hallway. Another guard, drawn by the commotion, turned the corner and almost bumped into Sam.

Without thought, she shot her right hand out, sending the heel of it into the bridge of the guard's nose, breaking it, and her knee into his groin, sending him to the ground, groaning. She turned to Cam. "And now, we walk extremely quickly away from this area."

"Remind me never to piss you off," Cameron said as he started running down the corridor and he had absolutely no clue where he was going, but hopefully they'd find an exit without too many guards.

Sam would have winked, but she was too busy walking quickly. Once they were clear of the guard-filled hallway, she stopped, trying to listen to her surroundings and hoping she could get a clue as to which way was out.

"Do you see any natural light?"

Janet glanced around, looking for Sam, then checked to see if anyone else was nearby.

JOhn looked around for someone to partner with. Someone that wasn't the idiot from last week.
