Basketball Game - FH Gym - 2nd Half

Half the game had been played, but it was still too close to call as Blue and Gold Gremlins battled it out. 

There may have been another gremlin roaming around the gym as well.  But that was probably just the cheer squad's mascot.

First, half-time festivites, then the ball game would be decided.

The ref once again stepped up to the center line and blew the whistle as he tossed the ball up into the air.

Tyler swatted at the ball and somehow managed to get to to bounce in such a way that he had what looked like a perfect opprotunity to take a shot. Blinking a little at his luck, he tossed the ball up ... and watched it bang off the backboard.

Anders maneuvered himself into the perfect position to take the rebound, jumped, and snagged it. He even remembered to box out properly (hey, he'd done a little extra research on the Internet this time) and clear the ball out from under the basket before spotting Peter open for a quick bounce-pass.

Peter grabbed the pass and dribbled around the nearest defender. Running into a bit more trouble, he looked for Cam and then chest-passed to him.

Cameron caught the pass, twisted around and had an open shot to the basket. The ball hit the backboard and went into the basket.

Score! Time for a victory run with his shirt pulled over his head. Yay!

John grumbles at the ball going in the hoop again. He takes it out for his team, dribbles down the court and tries to shoot.

It clanks off the rim and goes towards another gold team member.

Tyler catches it, but there's no way he can shoot around Cam and Peter. He tosses the ball toward Greg.

Anders cut in first, though, and stole the pass.

"Ha!" he crowed, spinning to pass to a teammate -- but at the last second he couldn't decide whether to pass to Cameron or Peter, and the pass ended up going to neither of them, really.

And John sneakily sneaks in and intercepts that ball and takes off down the court and lays it up.

It goes in again. John feels like he just won the Super Bowl.

Peter took the ball out to half-court and bounced it for a few seconds, trying to form a play. He nodded to Cam, dribbled in to the right, hoping to draw away the defenders and bounce-passed back to him.

Cameron grabbed the ball, dribbled towards the basket but couldn't get a shot. He quickly passed to Anders as he noticed he was open.

Anders was open, and had a good look at the basket if he cut to the left two steps.

Unfortunately, after he took the pass, he cut to the right three steps instead and bricked it fantastically off the lower left corner of the backboard.
