Basketball Game - FH Gym - 2nd Half

Half the game had been played, but it was still too close to call as Blue and Gold Gremlins battled it out. 

There may have been another gremlin roaming around the gym as well.  But that was probably just the cheer squad's mascot.

First, half-time festivites, then the ball game would be decided.

Conner took the ball out of bounds and spotted Tyler open for a pass, so he threw it to him.

It was an overhead pass, actually, much like he'd do a throw-in from the sidelines in a soccer game. Luckily he remembered not to throw it quite that hard.

Tyler caught the ball and tossed it to Zack, who looked surprised for a second and seemed to be considering a shot before he tossed it back to Tyler.

Tyler went for a lay-up but tripped and dropped the ball.

Really, really not his game.

Anders made a move to snag the ball off the floor, dribbled back a few steps to the baseline, and squared up for a shot that banked cleanly off the backboard and into the net.

He stared at the net for a moment. "Holy frak."

"Nice." Conner took the ball out of bounds, spotted Zack open at the top of the key, and passed it to him before cutting in under the basket himself.

He sprinted up the sideline to the half-court line as Zack passed the ball to Tyler, took a pass back from Tyler, then bounced the ball in to Zack under the basket.

It would've been a pretty decent display of ball movement on a junior-varsity level, but the missed layup kind of took a bit of the shine off of it.

Cameron caught the rebound and jumped up, managing to catch the ring, he dunked in the shot. Oh yeah, he was feeling good about that one.

Conner gave Cameron the strangest look as he took the ball out to the sidelines to inbound it. He totally cheated this time, though, and inbounded the ball off Anders's back when he wasn't looking, darted in, and scooped it back up himself.

"Zack! All yours, dude!" he yelled, lobbing the ball over that way now that he had a good angle to do so. Zack didn't have as good a look at the basket as Conner had hoped, though, and kicked it out to Tyler, who did, and took the shot.

Successfully, this time. W00t!

The ref blew the whistle indicating the end of the game.

Final score: Blue 20, Gold 14.
