Game, FH Gym, 1 p.m. FHT

The gym was ready for the game assuming nothing crazy happened during detention, with a shiny floor, clean new nets, and two perfect basketballs lolling about. Everything was ready for the rematch between the blue and gold gremlins. Last time, gold had eked out a victory; this time, it was anyone's game.

Play ball.

[OOC: Wait for OCD. This post is open throughout the day; a post for the second half will be made when we're ready for it.]

"See, that's just what I say!" Willow said, thinking Susan was agreeing with her. "Shelby's never hurt anybody, and now he's trying to make a good career for himself. If anything I say we should encourage him."

Susan took a moment to wrap her mind around that.

"So. Shelby's expressed an interest in a career? In what?"

Because it's Fandom. And she used to be quite good friends with a Mr. and Mrs. Beaver.

"Right now we're working on coal mining," Willow said, "since it's a vital Virgnia industry."

"Well, yes. Of course it is." Susan frowned, then cautiously asked, "Is he a very large turtle, perhaps?"

"About seven inches in shell," Willow said, demonstrating with her hands.

"Ah." Susan felt something in her brain break for a moment, then just reminded herself, It's Willow. "And Mr. Bluth feels that Shelby should not, perhaps, be pursuing this career? How very close-minded of him."

"He made t-shirts!" Willow said, indignant. "Imagine if poor Shelby had seen! There was no way I could wear one of those, not even for detention. Besides, Becky's always been very nice to me so at least this shirt is true."

"I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Ms. Vartan in person," Susan said, wondering at this again. "Are you taking her class, then?"

"No, we've just talked a couple of times," Willow said, and no way was she telling Susan about what. "But she was very nice and helpful. She must be a great teacher."

"Right. Well, then." Susan... has no response to that, for a full minute. "I'm certain she'd appreciate the free advertising for her business, then. Mr. Bluth must have wanted to do her a favor." Although at the expense of one of his students? Really.

"Don't tell but he's totally in love with her," Willow said. "I think he'd ask her to marry him but he's got fear of rejection."

Susan remembered the rather flamboyant performances Mr. Bluth tended to give at Caritas, and her one encounter with him outside the bar, and felt rather doubtful about that last part. "That's certainly very-- sweet, then. I wouldn't have expected that. Although I'm still in the dark about the turtle predjudice." She paused, feeling that swooping sensation in her temples that indicated she'd lost complete track of the conversation. Soldier on. "I just wanted to make sure all was well, since I saw you had your handkerchief out to cheer, but you weren't in the stands."

"I wanted to do right by Peter, even if I was standing on the wrong side," Willow said, looking a little shy now that the topic was back on Susan's brother.

"I'm certain he appreciates that." Susan took another look at the T-shirt, then asked, "And I assume you'll be wearing something else after the game? I know Peter mentioned how lovely you looked in pink, at some point. And after all, Ms. Vartan may be a lovely person, but there's no need to give Mr. Bluth the satisfaction when he's been wanting to torture turtles."

Susan blinked at herself. Yes, she actually just said that.

Willow nodded. "Oh yeah. I just have to wear this for the whole detention or I'll get into trouble. I won't be a jailbird once the game is over though."

"Wonderful." Susan sighed in relief. Telling Willow the implications of that phrase *while* she was wearing the T-shirt... no. That way lay madness. And flailing. And probably a certain amount of babbling. "I hope I see you after the game, then. Do tell Peter I'm cheering for him, won't you?"

"Of course," Willow said with a smile. Being totally oblivious to Susan's thoughts, Willow seemed much more relaxed now that she knew Susan wasn't disapproving of the hankerchef.
