Game, FH Gym, 1 p.m. FHT

The gym was ready for the game ~~assuming nothing crazy happened during detention~~, with a shiny floor, clean new nets, and two perfect basketballs lolling about. Everything was ready for the rematch between the blue and gold gremlins. Last time, gold had eked out a victory; this time, it was anyone's game.

Play ball.

"Body counts are definitely bad," Cally said. "Even with all the stuff that happens, it's really a pretty charmed life here, don't you think?"

"Charmed indeed," Bel murmured, looking over at where Phoebe was cheering. "Could be worse. We could be stuck with boring lives in some boring world."

"Exactly," Cally said. "Wouldn't change this experience for anything else. Especially a boring highschool in Oasis."

"Where else would you have dragons made of jello?" Bel said, chuckling. "Enemies you can fight then wrestle in."

"There was Jello wrestling?" Cally pouted. "I missed that."

"There was wishful thinking," Bel admitted. "I would have liked to have seen it." Then a gremlin went for his ankle.

Nadia, oddly disappointed by Cally's reaction, went to go chomp on Bel's ankle instead.

"What the...?" Bel tried to jerk his ankle out of the way but just wasn't fast enough. "Hey!"

Nadia chattered at him.

She might be yelling "Boys don't cry, boys don't cry!"

"Oh frak, did it get you?" Cally said, looking down. "I shook the thing off, guess it... sorry."

Bel peered at his ankle. "Yeah, but I don't feel any different," he said, inspecting the bite. "Maybe I'm immune."

"Oh, is this your first bite?" Cally asked.

Immune?!

Nadia chittered angrily at them and skittered off.

He nodded. "I've been lucky so far." He seemed antsy, like he was having trouble staying still.

"Lucky," Cally said. "I've had two, I think. Maybe three? Two that I remember, at least."

"We should just kill them all -- no, I mean, there's got to be a way to live peacefully with them," he corrected himself.

"Yeah, I've got no real beef with 'em," Cally said. "I figure you just gotta be careful and not mind the ocassional humiliation."

"Maybe we should give them names. Do you think they'd like that?"

And Bel...bounced.

Cally's eyes bugged. "I don't know," she said, slowly.

Bel bounced some more. "Maybe biting is their way of communication. If we bite them back, that may help us communicate." He made a face. "But that could be mean."

"Also possibly bad for the teeth," Cally said.

"Is something wrong?" Bel asked. "You look kind of strange."

"Are you feeling okay?" Cally asked. "You seem a bit. . . hyper."

"I feel fine!" he insisted. "This game's great, isn't it?"

"Sure it is," Cally said, inching away a bit. "I'll just leave to enjoy it, okay?"
