Game, FH Gym, 1 p.m. FHT

The gym was ready for the game assuming nothing crazy happened during detention, with a shiny floor, clean new nets, and two perfect basketballs lolling about. Everything was ready for the rematch between the blue and gold gremlins. Last time, gold had eked out a victory; this time, it was anyone's game.

Play ball.

Nadia popped her head out from under the bleachers near Jaye's feet and chittered, possibly snarking on the cheerleaders and the silly spirit stick.

Mascots were way better than cheerleaders.

Nadia chittered her agreement, and held out a crumpled container with a few half-dead popcorn kernels in it that she'd found under the bleachers.

"Hey, score," Jaye says, because now she has ammunition to throw at the players AND the audience. And she starts to reach out to take it, then says, "You're not going to bite me, are you? Cuz that wouldn't be cool, you know."

Nadia chittered. It possibly meant "as if!"

It might have been part survival instinct. This was Mean Girl, after all. She'd get ranted at on the radio. Not cool.

Since she hasn't gotten bitten yet,Jaye takes the popcorn. "Who do you want me to hit?" she asks. "I'll totally aim."

Nadia gave Jaye a clawed thumbs up and skittered off again to go bite harrass put the fear of Nadia into bite someone else.
