Wilderness Survival Redux - Week 3 | Thursday Morning, A Clearing in the Woods

Callisto had two lock boxes today, rather than just one. "Shoes in the first box, clothes in the second, everything except your underwear." The expression on her face suggested that anyone who objected would lose the underwear too.

After everyone had removed their clothing and placed it in the box, Callisto continued "If you spend a prolonged period of time in the wilderness, then it is more than likely whatever clothing you were wearing at the time will come under a considerable amount of wear and tear, especially if it wasn't designed for the environment you're in. The results can be… unpleasant to say the least.

"Luckily, it is possible to repair, and even make clothing from items found in the wilderness. Animal skins, some kinds of tree barks, vines, sinew. The possibilities, if not endless, are at least more varied than you'd think. Even luckier for you, I'm not making you hunt and forage for the raw materials.

"I think you can guess the rest of today's lesson. Use the materials I've provided to make garments to replace the ones you were wearing before. I know the equipment might be a primitive compared to what some of you may be used to, all bone needles and stone knives, but well, you'll just have to deal."

"Get to it," Callisto said. "And as an extra incentive, you're not getting your clothes back until next week, so make sure that you put a decent effort into the clothes."

"Probably not, no," Dean agreed. "Though if you ever need help pranking anyone Sammy and I are your guys."

"What happened with the glue?" she wondered. "The water I understand."

Dean grinned. "I crazy glued all of Alec's pants."

"To what?" she asked, grinning.

"To him." Dean's grin widened. "We put the glue on all his pants and waited for him to put a pair on."

Rory sighed and covered her face with a hand, laughing. "Poor Alec. He didn't notice?"

"Not until he had both hands stuck."

"Well to the waistband. With one leg in." Dean chuckled. "You should've seen his face."

Rory was still laughing. "Okay, yeah, if anyone ever does something bad enough to warrant that kind of treatment - other than having sex near me - I'll let you know."
