Photography [7/26]

There were coffee and pastries from J,GOB. There were handouts. There was Veronica, listening to the download of radio on her MP3 player and looking sad.

Once everyone had arrived, she said, "Okay, today's lesson is the Rule of Thirds, which is a basic guideline more than a hard and fast rule," she began.

After lecturing briefly on the subject, she let the students loose in the darkroom to develop their photos. She was there for questions, but not exceptionally chatty.

They made their way back to the classroom and she said, "This week's prompts are Berries, Bird, and Air. Spend the rest of the class brainstorming."

[omg super busy at work, so light interaction from V. Good thing V isn't feeling chatty today :)]

Angela listened carefully to the lecture and tried to sketch out how the rule of thirds worked.

Angela decided to experiment with black and white for hwer photographs of water and joy. She wasn't sure how well she liked it, so she left the photo of trees in color.

Kaylee very carefully developed her photos of water (http://wheeledone1.homestead.com/files/photowater.jpg), tree (http://wheeledone1.homestead.com/files/phototree.jpg) and joy (http://wheeledone1.homestead.com/files/photojoy.jpg).

Rory carefully developed the picture she had taken of Vladdie playing for joy (http://pics.livejournal.com/rory__gilmore/pic/00050k1a), as well as the one she'd snapped of a dogwood tree for tree (http://pics.livejournal.com/rory__gilmore/pic/0004zfk6), and the closeup of an ice cube she'd taken for water (http://pics.livejournal.com/rory__gilmore/pic/0004yh4c).

Parker wasn't entirely happy with this set: tree and water (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/720085.html) did coincide with joy, a little, since Blair was goofing in a few of the photos; but the light was overexposed in a few shots. A couple were really good, though. And the photo of Xander and Bridge (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhighdorms/720869.html?thread=49407205#t49407205) smiling was perfect.

Stark developed his photo of water, trees, and a photo of a peanut butter cup for joy.

"Air. Air?" Parker sighed. "Clouds? Technically?" She frowned. "Wind. That'll work, maybe...."

Our office having fallen victim to a power outage on Monday that knocked out the server and hosed our accounting database (which didn't come back up until yesterday afternoon), plus me having gone home early yesterday with a migraine, I'm riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight there with both of you. ;)
