First Aid II, Danger Shop, Tuesday morning, 7/25

Elliot was pouting a little as she stood at the front of the mostly-dark Danger Shop. "Hi. For some reason, the frickin' computers will not do anything for me this week, so we're going to kick it old-school for this class session.

"First off? I have some stuff I probably should have given you your first week. Here is a first-aid kit and a manual. Use them, love them carry them around with you, et cetera. Your job is to look through the kits and find one thing that you don't know how to use or haven't used before, and figure out a situation in which you would need that thing.

"After that, we're going to play a game called A Progressive Story. I've divided you into two groups, and I'll start a story for each of you. You should each add a few sentences talking about a new injury or how to treat it. If someone gets stumped or suggests a bad treatment, they're out. The winner is the last person to keep the story going.

"Next week we should cover animal bites. Assuming I can get the shop working by then."

[OOC: Mod the contents of your first aid bags within reason. In the story, there's no need to keep pings in a specific order, though I hope everyone will get to contribute. And as ever, I'm on SP after 1:30 EDT.]

Lana poked through her kit and came across a strange thing attached to a key ring. After some investigation she discovered it was a sort of disposable mouth protector for performing CPR.

"Activated charcoal?" Parker looked it up, then brightened. "Oh, cool. Hmmm."

No, she's not thinking of feeding to anyone. At all.

"Plotting something devious?" Peter asked grinning as he sorted out sizes of bandages and tried to figure out the use for a large ribbon.

"Taking notes for future needs," Parker said sweetly. "You never know when a theatrical need for induced sickness can come in handy." She took a sip of her coffee, and glared at him. "Like the next time someone comes by and makes me go running at 6 a.m., possibly."

"You said sunrise," Peter replied, innocently. "Besides don't you enjoy being awake for this class?"

"It keeps me from being bitten by badgers," Parker said grudgingly. "But I'd rather be asleeeep." She took a sip of her coffee, and asked, "How's Willow? Was she effected by this weekend at all?"

Because much as she'd like to forget it ever happened, there's no ignoring it, really.

"Avoiding badger bite is always my top priority," Peter said with a straight face. "And you'd've slept half the day away if you were still in bed. How could that be good?" He frowned slightly then smiled. "She was in bed with a flu all weekend. She's getting better though. Are you quite well after the weekend?"

Parker thanked Whatever that Willow being sick meant there was one more person who hadn't witnessed her being a trampy twit. "Fine. Last nicotine patch applied today. Still craving cigarettes but I'll manage. And while I want to burn all the negatives floating around, I'm well aware that's probably impossible." She grinned suddenly, remembering what Peter and his cohort had been photographed doing. "As I'm sure you'll agree."

"Nicotine patch?" Peter asked. "I felt like I'd eaten an ashtray all day Sunday. The taste is horrifying." He sighed. "I'm pretty sure it's impossible. I - would really prefer not to be immortalised as an idiot. But I doubt that's going to happen." There was definite blushing.

"At least you didn't kiss anyone who would have preferred to French an ashtray in preference to you. And vice versa." Parker made a face. "I quit smoking last October, and this weekend just brought it all back. Thus, dermal patch of nicotine to keep the urge to light up under control." Parker patted Peter's arm sympathetically, still amused. "Peter Parker told me what you guys got up to, and I think he's right: the Peter Griffin will draw alllll the attention away from you other two."

[ooc: Np, must leave anyway! *pats* ]

"That is very true," Peter agreed. "Why do you and Anakin dislike each other so much? If I'm not prying too much, of course," he added quickly. He smiled in embarassment. "The worst part, I think, is remembering what a good idea it seemed at the time. Seriously, Doody was very dumb."

Re: Exploring First Aid Kits, 7/25

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-07-25 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Parker snickered. "Sorry. I have no room to be giggling, here. At all." She rolled her eyes. "I am damn glad I only ran into a couple guys on Saturday, or I'd have *lot* more to apologize for. ChaCha wasn't exactly discriminating." She paused, and said, "I can't really get into the thing with Anakin. It's a long story. I actually liked him pretty well last semester, but there was a fight, things got said, and... anyway. It's moot. He'll be leaving for home in another month, and we won't have to avoid each other any more."

"I'd rather people who were there with me laughing than everyone else," Peter said with a smile. "Though I have to say that once I find Zack, I'll be happy to have my apologies out of the way." He nodded at her explanation. "It's too bad though that a friendship was hurt like that."

"What did you do to Zack? And he has photos, I think he's got his revenge already," Parker said, then shrugged a little sadly. "Yes. And we both care about Rory, she's his best friend. It's awkward. But it's too late to fix, I think. *Especially* after this weekend."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
"I may have threatened to beat him up for being a nerd," Peter said, shamefacedly. "And...not that I know anything about the situation, but if you would like to fix it, you should try. It's not too late until he leaves for good."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
"Ohhh. At least you didn't actually do it." Parker made a face. "Notice how every other thing we say is, 'at least we didn't...'? It sucks, no matter what. I'm sure he'll understand, though." She looked away, and quietly said, "Some things can't be taken back. It's better to leave it as is. Minimize the damage."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh, I don't even want to imagine that. And I didn't beat up Tyler either which I remember going through Doody's mind. Thank goodness we weren't those people too much longer," Peter agreed. He nodded at her explanation and did not pursue it further.

"Now I just have to track down Dean, and apologize for flirting skankily with him. And Susan Ivanova, and apologize for insulting her. Although we were pretty even on the insults there." Parker shook her head. "Sometimes poison is easier."

Re: Exploring First Aid Kits, 7/25

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:20 am (UTC)(link)
"You could treat it with the activated charcoal," Peter pointed out, grinning. "I'm sure Dean has done his own share of grovelling already so I'm sure he wouldn't mind too much."

Re: Exploring First Aid Kits, 7/25

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:21 am (UTC)(link)
"I would expect so. Thank God Anakin doesn't have a girlfriend..." Who wants to kill me, anyway. "Ivanova's easier, I haven't seen her since she got back. I can buy her a drink when I apologize."

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:36 am (UTC)(link)
"And now I'm wondering if Dawn has hit Ivanova with a frying pan yet," Peter said. "And exactly, you can combine welcome back with I'm very sorry that I called you horrible names while under a spell."

[identity profile] mparkerceo.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:39 am (UTC)(link)
"Now I just have to get the best vodka on the island, and I'm set. Ooo. That might work for Dean, too." She grinned. "Zack, you might need to get a computer zip drive or something."

Re: Exploring First Aid Kits, 7/25

[identity profile] once-a-king.livejournal.com 2006-07-26 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
Peter grinned back at her. "I bet that would work. Or maybe whiskey of some sort. For Zack though? I'm going to try a basic apology first. If that doesn't work, it's a good thing I know a computer whiz."
