Lying and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, Class #3

"Hello!" Jarod waved to the gathered students. The bandage was gone from his head, but the stitches were still visible. "Today we'll be learning about how to keep a secret, and I mean a real secret here, one that someone's life is depending on, by telling the truth."

"The kicker here is that someone will be asking you questions, trying to find out what the secret is. It's your job to answer their questions as completely as possible, but to still keep that secret. Then you'll switch. You'll each pick a secret of your own, and write it down on a piece of paper before you start. Then, your partner will write down what they think the secret is when they're finished, and show it to you. I'm trusting you to tell them if they got it right."

"Also, please feel free to have some coffee, juice, fruit, and bagels," he gestured at the table behind him.

[ooc: No Jarod until 6 pm EST, pair up and have fun!]

She grinned. "Nah, my dad doesn't have enough contact with me to make anything interesting. But that must've been weird, having a bunch of sisters and being a boy."

"Just a bit." Briar admitted. "And our two main teachers are girls too. But that's been the past four years, as you can figure from my big secret."

"My mom was sixteen when she had me. I know all about weird," Rory said, nodding. "Did they make your clothes?"

"Don't think my Mum was any older than that when she had me, either. And yeah, Sandry did." Briar nodded. "She's a stitch witch. And from one of the most prominent noble families in our world. Daja is a Trader and works with metal and Tris is a merchant who can control the weather. We are odd."

"...I can't do anything cool like that," Rory said, frowning. "And you can do planty stuff, right?"

Briar nodded. "Mine is the most passive power. But I can also talk to the girls in my head, see magic a little bit, not so much here, and sometimes use their powers, again, not much recently. Which is good. And hey, life is easier without magic."

"I just learned how to do telepathic communication!" Rory said proudly. "Are you psychic, or is it just with them?"

"Just them." Briar grew quite for a second. "Sandry says 'Hi' and she likes your blouse. How did you learn to do it?"

"Hi Sandry," Rory said back, grinning. "Um, I have a psychic friend, and when we were silenced last weekend, he got tired of writing it all down and just started projecting things into my head."

"Hunh. Wish I could, would have made life much easier. My miming abilities are not very good." Briar smirked.

"I got a lot of use out of my whiteboard," Rory said, grinning. "My miming is horrible."

"And that would have worked too, but I'm kind of a slow writer. I read much faster." There was a bit of a note of pride in his voice.

"You're like Aeryn," Rory said. "She spent the weekend making us read lips."
