Lying and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, Class #3

"Hello!" Jarod waved to the gathered students. The bandage was gone from his head, but the stitches were still visible. "Today we'll be learning about how to keep a secret, and I mean a real secret here, one that someone's life is depending on, by telling the truth."

"The kicker here is that someone will be asking you questions, trying to find out what the secret is. It's your job to answer their questions as completely as possible, but to still keep that secret. Then you'll switch. You'll each pick a secret of your own, and write it down on a piece of paper before you start. Then, your partner will write down what they think the secret is when they're finished, and show it to you. I'm trusting you to tell them if they got it right."

"Also, please feel free to have some coffee, juice, fruit, and bagels," he gestured at the table behind him.

Sawyer taps his chin. "Does it have to do with yer Mother or yer Father?"

"My dad." says Draco. He had a smirk on his face.

"Ahh. I don't know you that well..but I'll have to guess you hate him?" It was quite obvious, the boy was radiating angst.

"He's the normal over-bearing, nothing-you-do-is-ever-good-enough Dad. So yes, I hate him." says Draco

Sawyer laughs. "This is gonna be hard..." He says with a sigh.

"Well, let's just say I don't really have to deal with him anymore." says Draco.

"Jail? Dead?" Guessing game. Woot.

Draco didn't say anything for a minute, too distracted by the thought of his father dead. When he finally came back to Earth he said "Yep, he's in jail."

He sounds sort of proud. He's had four relatives in prison, the embarassment waved bye bye long ago.

Sawyer facepalmed. "Is that you're secret. Your Pa's in jail?"

"Yep. I don't have any secrets about me, so I gotta exploit someone else." says Draco, grinning.

"Your turn to ask me then."

"Okay. Does your secret involve your family?" asked Draco.

Sawyer shakes his head. "No."

"Hmmm..." he mumbles. He sucked at guessing things. "Is it something bad? Of course it is, why would it be a secret if it was good?"

"It is bad, right?"

"If you look at it from a different point of view, it could be bad."

So whatever Sawyer did he didn't regret doing it. A man after Draco's heart. This only made it harder. "Um...do any jail time?"

Sawyer tilts his head a bit. "Jail time for the secret? Or just in general."

"Uh, for the secret." says Draco. Though the question of whether or not Sawyer had every been to jail was pretty much answered.

"No. Not for the secret, no."
