Lying and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them, Class #3

"Hello!" Jarod waved to the gathered students. The bandage was gone from his head, but the stitches were still visible. "Today we'll be learning about how to keep a secret, and I mean a real secret here, one that someone's life is depending on, by telling the truth."

"The kicker here is that someone will be asking you questions, trying to find out what the secret is. It's your job to answer their questions as completely as possible, but to still keep that secret. Then you'll switch. You'll each pick a secret of your own, and write it down on a piece of paper before you start. Then, your partner will write down what they think the secret is when they're finished, and show it to you. I'm trusting you to tell them if they got it right."

"Also, please feel free to have some coffee, juice, fruit, and bagels," he gestured at the table behind him.

[ooc: No Jarod until 6 pm EST, pair up and have fun!]

Tyler grinned, thinking he had it. "So this is, like, you have a crush on Katie Holmes or someone, right?"

Damnit. They weren't supposed to lie, right? "Something like that."

Tyler remembered Cam had to answer the questions he asked. Ha. "Who?"

He might have been enjoying this.

Cameron groaned. "Can I state my name and rank now?" Never mind that he didn't have a rank. "Cameron Mitchell. Stickbug. U.S. citizen."

Tyler mulled it over, enjoying himself. "Stickbug brotherhood is a serious thing," he said. "But I'll let you invoke it. Can I try to guess who it is, or do you want to try to get my secret a little more?"

"You can try to guess if you want," Cameron said. "Dude, I seriously have no clue what your secret is about."

And Tyler wasn't about to help him guess it. "Why is the person you're interested in famous?"

Cameron sighed and decided if he ever got captured by the enemy, he'd just stick to the whole rank thing. "People like to listen to her," he said, trying to remain vague.

If Tyler knew Cam's plan, he'd tell him it sounded like a good idea.

He thought about his next question. "If someone found you listening to a song by her, would you be embarassed?"

Cameron mumbled an affirmative.

Of course, that didn't actually narrow things down that much. "Has she ever been on a reality TV show?"

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
"Uh," Cameron stared. "I don't think so? I have no clue, man."

Tyler often acts on instinct. That's the only way to explain his next question.

"Do her hips lie?"

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 08:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Cameron blinked. "I don't know, she's never ta-" he stopped and realised how that sounded. "That'd be no."

So probably not Shakira. Unless it was Shakira.

This was confusing.

"Blonde or brunette?"

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 09:02 pm (UTC)(link)
"Brunette, I think. She's changed colour a few times," Cameron said, slightly confused. He might just be a bad fan.

"They all do," Tyler said, with a heavy sigh. "I can think of a dozen chicks this could be."

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
"I don't think giving hints is supposed to part of the excercise," Cameron shrugged and motioned to the papers. "Wanna trade secrets or do you wanna keep guessing? Did yours have to do with anything physical?"

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 09:29 pm (UTC)(link)
"I'm ready to quit guessing," Tyler said. "And no, not really. It's a thing I did physically, but it's not what you would consider a heavy workout."

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] cameronmitchell.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 09:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yoga?" Cameron asked, deciding that he was officially bad at this game.

Re: Class Assignment

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
Tyler shook his head, taking pity on Cam. "I just meant that it is something I did. It's not physical. Want me to just telll you, or should we say we're done?"

"I'm curious now," Cameron grinned and slipped Tyler his paper with the secret written on it.

I am a fan of Celine Dion.

[identity profile] tyler-gone.livejournal.com 2006-07-24 09:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Tyler's eyebrows were through his hairline. Celine hadn't been on his list of possibilities. "This secret dies with me," he told Cam, and handed over his own slip of paper.

I used to work in an insurance office.

"Thanks," Cameron grinned and read the paper. "Dude, no way I could have guessed that."

"It was a job," Tyler shrugged. "And I had no idea about your musical tastes."
