Summer Picnic, Main Campfire, Friday afternoon

At lunchtime, the campfire area was set up with blankets, baskets, picnic tables, food, and ant problems. The groundskeeper who brought the ants was later sent home for the rest of the day. It turned out that he didn't really like picnics.

"I got spoiled on page 68. Bastards. They should all die." Parker may have sounded a little vehement about it. "Still, it's really good, and I'm hoping? That Angelica Demesne will do a signing in D.C. sometime this year. It was on her website, they're hoping to do that."

Zero bounced in place, being careful not to land on any ants. "I read somewhere she might do a signing at the Barnes & Noble in Alexandria. How swerval would that be?"

"Completely swerval." Parker's bounce was quickly suppressed, but the insanely cheerful grin was not. "We could finally ask her about that bit in Pearl Blade, and where she got the idea for it."
