Summer Picnic, Main Campfire, Friday afternoon

At lunchtime, the campfire area was set up with blankets, baskets, picnic tables, food, and ant problems. The groundskeeper who brought the ants was later sent home for the rest of the day. It turned out that he didn't really like picnics.

[OOC: I suck and completely forgot about this. Sorry about the relative lateness. It's a sunny and fairly comfortable day. I MOD WEATHER! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!]

"Maybe we need to learn to speak Ant," Bridge says. "Before we can order them around, anyway."

"I speak half a dozen languages, and none of them are Ant. Think they speak Spanish or German, maybe?" Rory asked curiously.

"You could try," Bridge says. "They are imported ants, after all."

"Grüße," Rory tried, addressing the ants. "Ciao? Boa tarde? Hola? Bonjour? Goede middag?"

She paused. "Γειάσου? 你好? こんにちは? 여보세요?" Another pause. "Ello-hay? Hidigello?"

And then frowned. "They're not responding, Bridgey. And I tried every language that I can say 'Hello' in."

Bridge tries saying "hello" in the handful of alien languages he knows. And then tries fingerspelling H-E-L-L-O in American Sign Language.

The ants stop and tilt their weetiny ant heads at him.

"Huh," Bridge says thoughtfully.

"...ants know ASL?" she asked, tilting her head. "But not Dutch or Korean. Good to know."
