Things to Do at the Beach, Galactica Point, Friday Morning

"Good morning, everyone," Jarod smiled, standing in front of a row of small two person sailboats. "I hope you all read the information I gave you last week, because you'll need it. These boats are suitable for one or two people, but unless you have experience sailing already, I'm going to require you to take a partner, and a paddle, just because sometimes there's no wind, and you'll want to come back to shore."

"For those of you who want to do more than just sail," he smirked, "I've set up some buoys as an obstacle course so you can practice your tacking and navigation. Just remember your rules of the road so you don't run into each other." He gestured out to the ocean, to a line of red dots bobbing in the water. "Also, don't go beyond the red buoys, just for your own safety."

"If you need me, I'll be out on the water in a kayak with a rope, ready to tow you in if necessary. Have fun, and I've had a great time being your instructor."

[ooc: No Jarod interaction until 6 pm EST tomorrow, but have fun in the meantime!]

Archie made a show of pulling out his watch and examining it. "That's an affirmative. Five minutes, mind you!"

One hand on the tiller and an eye on his watch, he steered to the beginning of the course and waited for the five minutes to pass. "Are you ready to catch up to her?" he asked Isabel, grinning.

"Yup," Isabel nodded eagerly, ready to pull in the sail. "Just tell me when."

Parker was sailing with the wind, and being careful to check on Archie and Isabel's progress every few minutes. It started to get choppier after a she got half-way to the first turn.

Archie wasn't quite used to such a small, light craft, and the choppiness caught him somewhat by surprise, forcing him to think fast to compensate. "This may not be quite as simple as I anticipated," he muttered.

After giving Parker the headstart agreed to (http://community.livejournal.com/fandomhigh/929906.html?thread=47209074#t47209074) Pippi and Molly's boat bobbed its way to the first part of the obstacle course.

Man this water is choppy.

Isabel held on. "Well, if we wind up in the water, at least it's warmer now then it was in May."

Parker waved to Pippi and Molly, then slowed down a bit as a speedboat zoomed by. "Tourist!" Okay, this was annoying. She rounded the first buoy, then tacked the sails, hoping to catch some speed that way. "Hey, Kennedy! Watch for that last guy!"
