"Yeah, I filled him in a little bit about Aaron when I talked to him about it," Rory said. "To give him a little perspective. I hope that's okay."

"That's fine. It's not really a secret," Veronica said. "It was all over the tabloids when it happened."

"That's what I thought. And I never even met him or anything. I just know all the stuff from the media," Rory shrugged. "Glad he's not able to bother you anymore."

Veronica smiled. "Yeah, me too. Hey, listen," she added. "I didn't tell Logan. I don't think he needs to know."

Rory smiled back. "Yeah, I won't mention it to him. It's totally your prerogative."

"Thanks," Veronica said. "So what's new with you? I haven't talked to you lately."

"My mom had the baby on Tuesday," Rory supplied. "But otherwise things have been quiet for me."

"Oh, that's right! Tell her I said congratulations," Veronica grinned ~~because there's no way in hell I'm playing out a visit~~.

"I talked to Angel last night," she remembered. "He asked how you were doing and I told him about the baby and he said to tell you congratulations as well."

"I'll have to give him a call. I heard from Jake yesterday - he bought Starbucks shares for the baby. But I forgot other people might want calls," Rory said thoughtfully.

Veronica laughed. "That sounds like a very Jake thing to do," she said. "How's he doing?"

"He's a girl at the moment, and he doesn't understand why his father is opposed to weetiny bikinis. And Alex isn't dead of being eaten by sharks, so that's always a plus," Rory told her.

"Not getting eaten by sharks is a definite plus," Veronica agreed. "And I can't imagine why Jake's dad is unhappy about weetiny bikinis. I know my dad never had a problem with them." Why yes, Veronica's eyes were rolling so hard, they might be in danger of falling out.

"My actual dad's not around enough to, but Luke's certainly never objected to anything I've ever worn," Rory agreed. "That's so out of character for fathers to act that way."

"It really is," Veronica said.

She chuckled. "You wanna get Luke good sometime? Or your dad, if you feel like being really mean? When they ask how a date was, tell them 'lousy conversation but the sex was fantastic.' It's so fun to watch their eyes pop out."

Rory grinned. "That way lies chastity belts and threats to boyfriends," she said, laughing.

"My dad wasn't amused either, but he got over it," Veronica said.

"Luke once threw my boyfriend out of his diner because we broke up for a little while," Rory explained. "And he never forgave him even when we were back together and all happy. Making Luke's eyes bug out might be funny, though."

"I never told my dad I was dating Logan again," Veronica admitted. "When we broke up last summer, my dad kicked Logan out of our apartment. I'm pretty sure he wouldn't have understood why we were back together."

Rory nodded. "Luke didn't get it when Dean and I were back together either. I swear, I think he just wants to pick my boyfriends for me."

"But of course, I'm sure he would never find anyone that was good enough for you," Veronica said.

"Oh no, never," Rory said, rolling her eyes again. "He means well, though, just like I'm sure your dad does."

Veronica nodded. "Yes, most definitely means well. And, to give my dad credit, he actually likes Archie."

"Who wouldn't? Archie's like, the ultimate bring-home-to-parents guy," Rory said with a grin. "You guys are cute, by the way."

"Thanks," Veronica said. "We're actually getting out of town for the weekend," she added. "After last week, we decided we need a break."

"Oh, where are you headed?" Rory asked curiously. "I'm out of here on a trip of my own starting Saturday morning."
