Basketball Practice, Sunday Morning, Gym

Yes, more than two weeks passed between the game and the next practice session for the basketball team. No, Tyler doesn't want to explain why. He had handwavily sent out an email scheduling today's session and asking when people wanted to practice going forward; that should be enough.

He turned on a mix tape, mostly Rage Against the Machine and Linkin Park, loudly enough to make the floor around it shake from the bass, and started working on his free throws.

[OOC: Expect extreme SP from me from about 1:30 p.m. EST or so until much later. And please answer the survey if you haven't yet.]

"That I don't know," Conner admitted. "There was something about it feeding on negative emotions, so I guess it picked people it thought would feed it a lot of that? Although I'm not sure how it would have known that."

Tyler nodded slowly. So him even showing up was your fault, he thought.

"It's a demon," he said. "It can probably know whatever it needs to know."

"Point," Conner said. "I've never helped get rid of a demon before. That was different."

"Good different or bad different?" Tyler asked. "I've never fought anything supernatural except the mummies."

Conner paused mid-situp. "Just different. I'm used to fighting weird monsters, but nothing magical, or even really . . . evil. Well, evil, sure, but because someone else created them to be. Nothing like this."

"I'm not used to fighting anything weirder than people," Tyler said. "Not that people aren't plenty weird."

"Oh yeah," agreed Conner. "They're usually way weirder than monsters, even. At least most of the time with monsters, they usually don't have plans more complicated than smashing up a city or taking over the world. People can be a lot trickier than that."

Tyler nodded, stretching so Conner couldn't see his face. "And you can't just kill a person. Usually. Not without a trial, anyhow."

Conner had gone back to his situps and couldn't see Tyler's face anyway. "Nope. Which is why I'll stick to the monsters. If I ever had to . . ."

He trailed off and shook his head. "I don't want to think about that."
