Things to Do at the Beach, Galactica Point, Friday Morning

"Good morning," Jarod smiled, and gestured to where some nets were set up. "Today's activity is beach volleyball. However, if that doesn't interest you at all, feel free to make sandcastles, play in the water, go kayaking, or pair up and go out in canoes. Stay close to shore, though, since the weather is still a bit iffy."

He distributed some handouts. "Next week we'll be sailing, so please review your knots, especially the bowline, and review this information about Sunfish and the glossary of sailing terms, since that's what you'll be sailing."

[ooc: Same as last week. No Jarod interaction until after 6 pm, EST, but feel free to have a good time before then.]

"With how and why they died, no it wasn't," Molly said a bit sadly. "But, I don't think it was meant to be easy. On any of us who got haunted."

Archie shook his head. "Your parents, the man who tormented me, the man who tried to kill Veronica . . . no, easy was the last thing it was meant to be. But enough," he added quickly. "You and I are rid of our ghosts at least. Let's not dwell on them any further. A bit of celebratory canoeing is in order here!"

"I agree!" Molly said and almost skipped over to the canoe. "Do you know how to steer? I went with Jude last time and he's been canoeing before so I just followed his lead."

"I'm no master canoeman, but I think I can manage," Archie said with a grin. "I can't wait until we go sailing next week, though."

"That should be fun," Molly said as she climbed into the canoe. "I've never been sailing before."

"You'll love it," Archie told her as they shoved off. "It's one of the best things on earth, as far as I'm concerned. The water, the wind, the sun, the smell of the ocean . . . there had better be sailing in heaven, or I'll be sorely disappointed."

Molly smiled as she listened to him talk about sailing. "So, except for the ghosts, how is your summer going? What other workshops are you taking?"

"Only this and Clockwork." Archie dug his paddle into the water and pulled. "That's a bit of a challenge, but after this week, I think I can manage it. And you? What else are you in?"

Molly matched the strokes of her paddle to Archie's. "I'm taking Archery, Astronomy and Wilderness Survival. All a lot of fun."

"Wilderness Survival?" He laughed. "The class where Callisto makes you take off your shoes every week? Everyone always seems so upset about that. I'd like to take Astronomy next session, if I can."

Molly shrugged. "I don't know why it bugs everybody so much that she makes us give up our shoes. We take them off without being asked for this class."

"This is very true," Archie agreed, steering the canoe toward slightly deeper water. "I never understood that myself."
