Nature & Nature Magic (Thursday Afternoon, 06/29/2006)

Today's class was meeting in the Preserve, which had been in a reminder e-mail Jenny had *handwavily* sent out.

A number of small tents are set up, and in front of them are are bundles of sage and some handouts.

"As far as I know, we don't have a sauna, so you get tents instead. Please don't light any fires inside the tent, but if you want to set up a campfire outside your tent, feel free. Check out your handouts on totem animals, and let's see if you can meditate and find yours. Or maybe you'll get another vision. Who knows? You can either go it alone or meditate with someone else."

"I've done a spell or two," she admitted quietly, "but mostly I've seen other people do them to fight vampires or demons." Or other things that she didn't like to think about. Dawn forced herself not to glance at Willow.

"So you're a witch then too?" Luna asked. She was breathing easy and very, very relaxed. The sage reminded her a little of mallow root, if not in smell then in purpose. "I suppose that would explain things then."

"Explain what things?" Dawn said, trying to slow her breathing and open her mind for the vision quest. "And no, I'm not."

"You're... you..." Luna searched for the words that felt right. She settled for, "you're not quite usual," because nothing else fit and she really couldn't put her finger on what set Dawn apart.

"If one turns their head just so and squints a little, you seem... tinged with green." Luna frowned. "Perhaps it's the sage and I look green as well? I've only ever used mallow root before."

"Er, no. It's not the sage," Dawn said, but didn't explain further.

Dawn crossed her legs under her and tried to concentrate. Then remembered she was supposed to be in the tent, oops.
