Nature & Nature Magic (Thursday Afternoon, 06/29/2006)

Today's class was meeting in the Preserve, which had been in a reminder e-mail Jenny had *handwavily* sent out.

A number of small tents are set up, and in front of them are are bundles of sage and some handouts.

"As far as I know, we don't have a sauna, so you get tents instead. Please don't light any fires inside the tent, but if you want to set up a campfire outside your tent, feel free. Check out your handouts on totem animals, and let's see if you can meditate and find yours. Or maybe you'll get another vision. Who knows? You can either go it alone or meditate with someone else."

"You won't." Blair spoke quietly and then concentrated on moving towards the spirit plane. When he opened his eyes he looked out across a jungle clearing and a small wolf playfully yipped in the center. Blair smiled at his spirit animal and then looked around anxiously. "Lana?"

Lana opened her eyes and saw Blair and a small wolf in a clearing. "Am I...? Did I do this right?"

The wolf padded up to Lana and yipped, dancing around her happily.

Blair spoke quietly from where he stood. "You did it right, Lana. Good job. Look around for your spirit guide."

Lana smiled, feeling relaxed and safe for the first time in days. She reached down to touch the wolf, the rough fur warm under her fingers.

She took a deep breath and looked around uncertainly. A fawn darted into the clearing and stopped some distance away, looking at her intently.

Blair watched the fawn with a smile. "You should go say hello, Lana. I think that it's here for you." He took a seat on the ground and the wolf scampered over to playfully nip at his fingers.

Lana walked cautiously over to the fawn, expecting it to bolt at any time. Instead it waited for her and nuzzled her as she reached out and touched it gently. After a moment it lay down and Lana sat next to it, resting her hand on its head, and feeling amazingly at peace. She looked over at Blair and smiled. "This is... beyond words."

"A deer means kindness, a gentle spirit and innocence. I think it fits you very well." Blair smiled and looked around.

"It is an amazing place. Are you feeling any better?"

Lana smiled at him. "I do. I wish we could stay here."

"You say that now, but you'd miss reality. Shopping, dancing, hanging out with your friends and boys." Blair teased gently.

"I know things are sucky right now and I can't even imagine what you're going through. But you've got lots of friends behind you and they're going to help you get through this. And anytime you want to, you can come here and relax."

Lana nodded. "I guess you're right," she said quietly. "And if I can really come back whenever I want..."
