Journalism Class - Friday September 16

Professor Jerusalem is properly dressed today, but instead of being behind his desk, is slouched in one of the over-stuffed chairs, prodding at his laptop. On the table before him is a large box with several holes punched in the lid. His cat is sitting atop the box, looking smug with both faces.

Spider is working on attendance records, homework assignments and class participation and is mumbling under his breath. There is another large, steaming mug of coffee beside him and what looks to be a cappuchino machine against one wall. The sign hung above it states, 'Drink at own risk'.

Beka appears, looking flushed, happy, and a little flustered, with a cup of coffee in hand.

"Any assignments today? If not, I'd like to do the obituary assignment."

She has no idea why, but something about this class brings out her inner love of intrigue and irony.

Absently, Spider responded, "Anything written in class or submitted in writing to the professor counts for extra credit. I'm writing something up on class scores here, I think." He paused to fumble for his coffee, still intent on the screen. "I'm seriously considering gathering past class assignments into individual documents for easier reading, too...."

"Thank you." Spider prodded at his laptop and pulled out a box of cigarettes from a pocket.

"Bum on from you? I'm not, apparently, allowed to carry my own."

Spider gave one to the cat and took one himself before handing the pack over, finally looking up. "I suppose this means you need a light as well?"

"Yeah." She knows she should quit, but her delinquent image is destroyed enough. For a little while longer, she can smoke. When Cameron's not around.

A lighter was produced, first for the cat, then for Beka, then for himself. "You did not get that from me," he told her, fending off the cat's attempts to help herself to Spider's cigarette as well.

"Of course not. I got it from John Sheppard." She smirked, then wandered off to find a bit of non-detention earning mischief.
