How to Be an Entertainer Workshop #5, Caritas, 06.21.06, Afternoon

GOB walked into Caritas just a little late, looking tired and hungover. He took a seat, said "Be mimes. Mime about last week," and put his head down. Mimes were good today. They were quiet.

"If anyone makes noise, they have detention!"

Peter just pointed to himself.

Jamie quietly writes down "Pee Cup/Sock Love"

Nadia just didn't sign in.

John runs out of Caritas, goes to the library, makes a copy of his driver's license, comes back and lays it down as a means to sign in.

Joxer signed in. In Greek.

Kawalsky wrote his name down backwards. It took a while.

e a mime! Mime alone! Mime in groups! Mime being in a group while alone! GOB doesn't care.

River curled up into a ball, miming herself under a bed.

She eventually got bored with that and mimed Berthold the monster on an ice cream high instead. The tentacles were tricky.

Jamie mimed himself not understanding that River was a thing with tentacles.

Peter decided to mime that he was in bed. Then he actually fell asleep.

John mimes that he's GOB. He mimes getting thrown drinks at him by a very stubborn woman.

Nadia, for all her various talents, was not a skilled mime. She was doing something, that much was clear. As to whether she was painting her name on a grain of rice or trying to conduct an imaginary symphony, it wasn't clear.

Joxer mimed. Loudly, because the guy rattles when he moves.

Talk. Quietly.

Because you're not supposed to talk today.

Jamie tried to mime to GOB that he received his test results back and that he was not using any drugs of any kind.

Unfortunately his movements looked more like he was flailing around like a dragonfly.

"Go away, Pee Cup," GOB muttered into the table as he waved Jamie off.

Nadia pointed at GOB's hand and gave a questioning look.

Okay, so she'd figured out he wasn't really a comic genius. She still cared, because she's just that ~~stupid~~ kind of girl.

GOB looked up and saw Nadia's look. "A hammer-wielding maniac tried to rob the place and put up aluminum siding. I fought him off, but got hurt during the struggle."

Nadia looked impressed and very quietly asked "aluminum siding?"

GOB pointed to indicate the other side of the bar. Aluminum siding covered the once-fine wood finish.

Nadia nodded slowly. There were some really strange people in this town, alright. "Did you know the person who did it?"

What? She hung out with Veronica. One tended to pick up an instinct for getting all the information.

"Psycho named Artie," GOB muttered.

Nadia blinked a lot. "Artie?" She narrowed her eyes. "What did you do to him?"

"Nothing. He came in, threw siding around, hit me with a hammer, and disappeared," GOB muttered, lifting his head slightly. "Some security guy."

"Artie doesn't do that! He's a superhero! You must have done something!"

Nadia? Is not always the smartest kid on the block.

"I tried to save my business for a raving madman! He doesn't care about me! He doesn't care about you! He doesn't care about anything but aluminum siding and attacking people with hammers any more!" GOB yelled. He regretted this.

"Gah. My head hurts. You just earned yourself a detention."

Nadia gaped. "Again?!"

GOB was so off her list of favorite performers.

GOB winced at the volume. "Say it in mime or don't say it at all today, okay? Professor GOB has a hangover and didn't get enough sleep last night," he said, lowering his head again.

Nadia "said it in mime". Fortunately, as GOB was not from Argentina, if he saw what she said, he might not know the proper, rather rude, interpretation of the hand-gesture.

Kawalsky mimed being a cowboy.

Then he caught sight of Crichton and remembered 'Johnny' so he changed to a ninja.

Then he got bored of that and mimed a pirate.

I've had this one planned for a while. Anyway, let me know down here if you want to actually get detention (with Veronica Mars) for talking. Otherwise, GOB will just flail hungoverly.

Feel free to give Nadia detention again, if you like.
