Newsletter Staff Meeting, 4pm FHT, Journalism Room

Rory was curled up on the couch, typing away on her laptop before everyone arrived.

Once a reasonably-sized group of people were there, she addressed them. "Hi, um, I'm Rory. I'm going to be your editor this summer. I know some of you, and some are new, so...old kids, check in with me about what you want to do, because you're probably set. New kids, formulate an idea and run it past me. Your deadline is Tuesday, and the newsletter will come out every other week. Oh, and meetings will normally be on Thursday afternoons. Today's an exception, so our next one will be a week from Thursday."

She figured it would probably be easier to talk to people one-on-one than address everyone as a group, and that way it'd be that much simpler to nab the new kids, and so with a quick smile, she went back to work on brainstorming ideas for her column.

"You get to interview someone!" Rory said brightly. "One of the workshop teachers. You can totally choose who."

Phoebe tried to smile at Rory, but she was still a bit depressed over her sister leaving.

"Hey Rory," she said softly. "Shipping News and Advice Column"

"I figured," Rory said with a small smile. "Still with Veronica?"

"Are you going to find a replacement?" Rory wondered.

She smiled slightly. "I plan to. I'm going to talk to Veronica and see what she thinks as to how to find a replacement."

"Funny you should mention that," Veronica said, arriving a few minutes late after spending the day unpacking the office - woe some time with Archie at the art fair which hasn't been played yet. "I think we should audition some people this summer."

Blair bounced excitedly. "So what should I do?"

"Okay, Blair, what do you think is an important feature or issue on campus right now?" Rory asked. "Since we already have someone working on interviews, you can do something a little different."

"Ecology is always very important." Blair nodded. "Also equal rights."

Rory considered. "Want to do a feature on how people feel about equal rights? Like if people think that Fandom High has equality on campus? Just get a bunch of student and teacher opinions and stick them together in an article? It'd be an opinion piece, so you wouldn't have to worry about being biased."

"I can so do that." Blair smiled and started planning the article in his head. "Opinion is like my middle name. Or possibly Moonchild. Who knows."

"Hyphenate. I can dig that." Blair laughed. "Although Opinion-Moonchild sounds like someone who should be doing astrology readings."

"No way." Blair shook his head quickly. "When you're my height you do not want to be giving yourself nicknames that correspond to small parts of machinery. Way bad idea."

"I'm Peter Griffin!" says Peter proudly. What he was proud of was any ones guess.

"Oh, you're Fa...you're the Peter I haven't met," she said, waving. "Okay, a movie review? That sounds fine. I can't remember the last time we had those, if we ever did, and it's nice and light. Perfect for summer."

"Uh hi... I'm Ranma Saotome." He put his hand out to shake. "I'm not a good writer but... I could doodle comics...I mean.. if thet's something you'd want... in the paper that is.." Wow. Ranma's a mess around pretty girls and new people. Rory being both he's having quite a lot of trouble. He's doing his best.
