Health Education, Friday, First Period
"We are going on vacation in Canada in October," Don greeted his class, "so even though it's not that cold yet, I thought we should talk about the risks of cold, such as frostbite and hypothermia." Don proceeded to describe some of the symptoms and warning signs to watch out for with each, in concurrence with the handouts he passed out to the class.
"Now, how can you avoid this? Obviously, stay warm. Dress in layers appropriate to the climate, and a hat, even though that thing about you lose however much heat from your head is a myth. Still wear a hat. Wear gloves. Cover your face. Again, it's not going to be cold enough to warrant all this on our trip, unless something goes seriously wrong, but it's good information to have. Any questions?"
