Jamie sat down in the lotus position and sought his own inner light.

Well actually he sat down and read an issue of Maxim, but it was quite enlightening.

Marie looked over Jamie's shoulder.

"Let me guess. You read it for the articles."

"Well don't you think it's important to know who PETA thinks is the world's sexiest vegetarian?" Jamie asked showing her a picture (http://www.maximonline.com/girls_of_maxim/girl_template.aspx?id=1178) of someone from a popular TV show.

"Not particularly," Marie admitted, tilting her head and studying the picture. The girl looked kind of familiar."

"Well what about the 12 best sitcom neighbors of all time?" Jamie said showing her the article (http://www.maximonline.com/slideshows/index.aspx?imgCollectId=95). "Don't you think that's important information to know?"

"Oh, yes, that is vitally important information."

"See? Very important and yet you mock my choice of reading material," Jamie said with a pout.

"Would you find it as important if there weren't pictures of scantily clad girls?" Marie asked.

Jamie sighed. "Why is this so periodical so misunderstood?"

"I couldn't say," Marie said. "So what's new with you? I haven't really seen you around this week."

"Been working mostly," Jamie said with a shrug. "I haven't been the most social person this week. Of course Nadia disappeared the other day into that weird locker thing so I've been worried about that."

"I heard something about that. I hope she's okay."

"I may try something later to see if I can get her out," Jamie said with a shrug. "What about you D'ancanto? What have you been up to?"

"Practicing cheerleading for tomorrow," Marie replied with a grin. "I'm really excited."

"So are you going to be there to cheer me on to victory?" Jamie asked.

"Of course!" Marie declared, shaking imaginary pompoms at him. "We've been practicing really hard."

"Then do a cheer for me," Jamie said putting his hand on his chin. "I'm having some serious pre-game jitters. A cheer from you should be just what I need."

Marie wished she had her pom-poms, but stood up straight and chanted:

Be aggressive!
B-E aggressive!
B-E A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E!

Complete with appropriate cheering movements and a jump at the end.

Jamie didn't spend the entire cheer ogling Marie.

Really.

"That was good. I think I need one more cheer though to chase away those jitters."

Marie was too into the cheer to notice Jamie ogling her.

So of course she gladly launched into another cheer at his request.

Dribble, pass, shoot, SCORE!
Wait, there's just a little more!
Defense, Offense, we have no doubt!
That's what we are all about!
GO Gremlins!

"See? With cheers like that? I really only need to read the articles," Jamie said waving to the magazine.

And that would be Marie's cue to start blushing.

"Well, I hope they work tomorrow," she stammered.

"Well I can watch you cheer and after the game maybe we can chat and I'll tell you how well you did," Jamie suggested.

Yep, still blushing.

"Shouldn't you be paying attention to the game tomorrow?" Marie asked.
